Blanket Burrito Days
And for many years, that was my go-to knee jerk reaction. I went from a sheltered upbringing to a deliberately sheltered mind. Instead of looking head on into the ugliness, I'd side step and ignore it. And due to my privilege, I was able to. It's only now I can see that.
There are still days I want to curl up in a blanket and disappear. And sometimes my mental health needs that. But I'm glad 2020 woke me up from my stupor to start looking more closely. I started paying attention and opening my heart to learning something other than what my immediate personal interests entailed.
