Oh hey, things look a little different around here, don't they?
If you're a new reader, you may not have realized that I messed around with the design of my blog! It took place late last night (so early this morning?) and I had the urge to change everything. I've been working on a few design ideas that have been sitting in the back of my mind for a long time now, and I finally took action. The last layout had been created for me by Jessica (who did an amazing job!), but I want to create a more personal stamp for myself. Finally, I feel confident enough in my capabilities to make it happen! I'm still working out the kinks, but for the most part, this is the direction I'd like to take the appearance of my blog. What do you think?

A couple weekends ago, my friend Corina paid me a visit right when Oktoberfest was taking place downtown. It was probably one of the most perfectly timed get-togethers. A reunion with beer? Sure!

I've always been fascinated by people-watching, especially for large events with a variety of people. Everyone was cheerful, boisterous, and in a good mood for the time frame we were there. We got in line, grabbed our beer mugs, and proceeded to join the celebration.

There was live music playing at the front, and gathered there were a group of people watching some hilarious competitions. One of which had me gaping in horror, because they set up a table and laid out hammers, nails, and planks on it. What on earth could they be planning to make drunk people do?

It was as I feared - they had pairs of two compete against each other in who could hammer a nail in the fastest. Luckily, no one lost a finger! There was one girl who was so fearful of doing so that she couldn't even hold the nail in place, and instead whacked around it repeatedly.

I managed to film a bit throughout the day as well, so I'll be having a vlog going up pretty soon covering that. If you haven't checked out my Youtube channel yet (how many times do I have  to put a self-plug here, guys?) you can see what I've been up to HERE! :D

As for my outfit of the day, I stuck to comfy basics and included my most favorite recent thrift find - this fabulous duster vest! How amazing is it?? It has got to be the most colorful item I've bought recently, but I absolutely love it. Every time I wear it, I feel on top of world, and that's how your clothes are always supposed to make you feel!

That's an awesome thrift store find! I scored a few nice dresses from a thrift store recently that I can't wait to wear. This seems like a fun event and since I'm a new reader I don't know what the old design looked like but this one is pretty cool!

Loving the new layout, Linda! I've been meaning to switch my layout up a bit, too!

Ooh, sounds like you had a great time, but gosh, I don't think I'd be able to stand watching people hit nails as fast as they can! Loving your fringed bag!

I've only been to one Oktoberfest... I got the biggest beer I've ever seen in my life and magically did not get sick. It was amazing.

YAAAS to this new layout! I am seriously loving it, and that tiny dragon fruit screaming rawr is simply perfect for you Linda. It made me smile. You're making me want to get a new layout... I should probably work on that... make a little pink polka dotted mannequin for myself, hahahaha.

That long vest thing (good vocabulary there, Ali) is so splendid. I love the bright print on it! It looks like you had an amazing time. Isn't October just the best month? Full of lovely colors, perfect weather, and that pungent scent of leaves... :D

wow, that competition doesn't sound so good :D I wouldn't want to see it, that's for sure. but good beer is good, that's a fact too. we have a huge beer festival in our capital town every summer and people love it. they love the beer and the famous artists who perform there.
by the way, that vest indeed is awesome!
