TRAVEL // The Dragonfruit Goes to Oregon PT 3

Hello everyone, and welcome to the last Oregon or Bust series! 

I'm finally wrapping up my recap on the summer roadtrip I took, even though it's been well over a month since we came back from it and are in the midst of school already.

Ah well, I don't mind reminiscing over this trip. Even if it's a little painful as I'm currently entrenched in homework, online assignments, and group projects. Ugh.

We continued our coastal adventures and went out to Yaquina Head, near Cobblestone Beach! There's an impressive lighthouse there, but unfortunately we hit during non-touring hours, so we could admire it from outside. A close walk led us down to the beach, which was aptly named. Instead of sand, stones filled the beach! It created such a cool sound when the waves would hit the shore and drag stones back with it. 

After wandering around Cobblestone Beach for a bit, we took off for the Sea Lion Caves! Unfortunately, while we were there, the sea lions were outside of the cave training their young, so we settled for viewing them through those tourist telescopes set up and observed their sunbathing on the rocks.

Still pretty cool! It was delightful to watch them diving into the water and finding their way back onto the main rock.After this, we decided to continue on and find another beach. This led us to pulling over and exploring Neptune Beach.

We discovered fresh blackberries here! Lining the pathway to the beach, a huge bunch of blackberries were growing. We picked handfuls and ate the sweet treat with relish. What was funny was how salty they were too! That sea air definitely seasoned them haha!

Of course, I had to do a tree pose out on the rocks (no worries, I didn't fall in), and Saff joined in on the yogi-ness of it all.

Finally, we wrapped up our day by spending it on Seal Rock Beach, and did a mini photo shoot there as well.

Overall, our road trip to Oregon was a blessing and I truly wish I could go back ASAP! Maybe next summer? Who knows. However, I'm grateful for the experience and getting back to my coastal roots. Being near the ocean rejuvenated me in ways I can't explain. Perhaps a bit of my soul is anchored in those crashing waves, and going back reunited me briefly with a part of myself.

That's the best way I can describe it at least.
