Music Monday: Night Terrors of 1927

I only recently discovered Night Terrors of 1927, otherwise known as NTO1927, but I already am quite fond of their sound.

They describe themselves as an alternative rock band, and this duo is not completely fresh to the scene. Both singer, Jarrod Gorbel, and guitarist, Blake Sennet, came from previously successful bands (The Honorary Title and Rilo Kiley in case you were curious), and were introduced by mutual friends. They started writing music together in 2012, but were hesitant to form a band.

Well, it's apparent they got over that hesitancy. So enjoy some new tunes and tell me what you think!

Now that the music portion is out of the way...I just want to say thank you to everyone who commented on the previous post and have wished me so many wonderful things!
Also, if you follow me on Instagram (@dragonfruit_diaries), you would have found out about a recent update I've done with my hair...I chopped a good 7" off.
Oh, and dyed it jet black.

I kept peering at my strong, square-shaped face, folding my hair up to see if it would flatter my strong facial structure. It was nerve-wracking! Finally, I just stopped second guessing it and told mom to grab the scissors. I'm so glad I went for it - it's just the update I needed. With deep black hair and a major trim, I feel more in control and fierce. While moving to a completely new city on my own is scary, crossing a mental hurdle as simple as what I should do with my hair has helped strengthen me for the many hurdles to come.

I'm settling in nicely so far, and will have to do photos of my new room soon. It's set up finally, and it feels so good to have everything in place with no extra boxes lying around.

Today I'm starting school, and thankfully it's an easy day of just one class - Printmaking.
Whoohoo! I'll update again when I can!

PS: OMGSH, I COMPLETELY FORGOT!
So, in December I discovered I would be writing for College Fashion as their Music Inspired Fashion Columnist. My first post went live 4 days ago, and you can check it out HERE. Let me know what you think! :)

When I saw your hair on instagram I was like HOLY TOLEDO YES. I love how drastic the color and the cut are -- you look daring and free to be yourself! I think now is the perfect time to embrace a change like that. :D

As far as the music goes, funky fresh. ;)

love,

Your new haircut sounds amazing, hope to see some better pics of it soon Linda! So exciting, a big change and a big chop as well! :)

Good to hear you're set up and settled and already back at school - must have been a busy start to the year for you!

Awesome news on writing for College fashion too, congrats! :)

I have a friend who writes her own music I keep meaning to connect you up with her to see if you want to feature her on one of your music Mondays posts! Would it be okay if I passed your email onto her?
