Getting Cozy with Polette :: Glasses Review
Glasses: c/o Polette |
Bonjour!
First off, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas (if you celebrated). It was an extremely simple day for my family and I, as usual, and I wouldn't have it any other way. We busted out the traditional Christmas cassette tapes (yes, we still play those), and then went even more old school by playing dad's old records on his turntable. As for gifts, I received a very practical and useful gift that I've been wanting for my upcoming move - a mini fridge! Thanks mom and dad!
Moving on, let's get on to the review portion of this post.
Today I'm here to talk about a new glasses company called Polette.
Pierre Wizman is an inspiring young man with a vision - for glasses! At 16, he quit school and decided to build his own company from scratch. With the help of his associate, Pauline Cousseau, they launched their website in August 2011. From there, it was only a matter of time before the media picked up on the affordable new eyewear site and their chic designs. While this is a France-based company, they deliver outside of Europe for a shipping fee of just $4.99!
I'm wearing the Marquis glasses, an incredibly chic frame that's made of faux wood - though believe me, it's quite convincing in appearance!
I love the design of these glasses, and have received quite a few compliments on them already. While the typical black frames are popular (I own a pair of those too...), they've become almost stale because of the over-usage of them. These wooden frames give that same hipster vibe, only with a fresher spin.
They're comfortable, fit well, and are flattering. I gave Polette my prescription, and it took a couple weeks for them to process and cut the lens, but it was worth the wait. I love my new glasses and plan on switching them in as my new, main pair.

You know, I kept seeing these on you in your Book of Faces posts and thinking how cute they were! The wooden look on you is so good. The wooden frame look? You're not wooden, obviously. But yeah, they're the cutest shape and they're so unique! Perfect for a unique little lady like yourself, miss Linda!
My holidays were nice and quiet--that's how I like them, haha. Just some time with the family and the dog a few days of relaxing, tea, and waaaaay too many cookies. Glad to hear yours were swell as well!<3
They are cute glasses, they look good on you :)
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Sounds like you did :)

I love your outfit and those glasses look really good on you, the frames are perfect! As for my Christmas, it was pretty much the same, just me and my closest family. Sometimes I wish we had a huge celebration with the whole family though :) x

Of course you would spend Christmas looking adorable and casual in your new specs. It's just such a you thing to do. ;)
I'm glad your Christmas was calm! Mine was pretty secluded -- J and I dropped of presents at my parent's the night before so we could spend Christmas day waking up late and drinking spiced eggnog while we opened presents. #justdaysoffthings
