On the Edge

Look, I'm floating! :D
Sometimes I forget what natural beauty is right outside my doorstep.
Most of the time, when people find out I'm originally from California, they wrinkle their brow and ask, "Why did you move here?" '

For the longest time, I'd shrug and say, "Yeah, I don't know either."
However, this past year, Idaho's grown on me. I've learned to appreciate just how stunning this state can be, no matter how underrated it is to the rest of the world. We have mountains, rivers, forests, and the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen. This canyon where these photos were taken is a local trail that I love taking strolls on. Kirsten and I found this little ledge that overlooked the winding body of the Snake River, and I quickly nitpicked my way to the edge for some pictures. It's ironic since I have an innate fear of heights, but at the same time I've always been drawn to edges. I love the feeling of looking down, and sensing your mortality. The colors become richer, the sensations stronger, and you suddenly feel awake. It's all made a million times better by the view that usually greets you too. Everything else just falls away.

As for this outfit, I felt quite comfortable and happy with the look. This knit sweater from Urban Outfitters is so soft and comfortable, I can't wait to start wearing it with absolutely everything! Summer is the season where I flourish as a person, but I can't resist fall fashion. Ohhhh, the conflict.
Also, mixing my hats with glasses is becoming my favorite combination.

Any fall trends you're looking forward to? Are you excited for the cool weather or are you clinging to every hot, summery day left?

You look comfortable and a total hippie hip hipster. I love the partially see-through skirt you have on, my dear. It looks fabulous on you. <3

that is such a gorgeous spot! Although I don't agree with you on getting close to the edge! I'm terrified of heights and hate looking down or getting too near the edge of anything!

I'm so afraid of heights I got sweaty palms just looking at your photos - girl, you're too close to the edge, haha! These pictures are breathtaking, it can be so stabilizing to take in nature :) Love your free-spirited look too, you look equal parts cozy and stylish!

Oooh, Linda, I love the jagged rocks of Idaho. They aren't found in Utah. But Utah has the Canyonlands and Arches National park that blow me away.

I love this trendy ensemble you have here. Thanks for admitting about the eyebrows. Hmmmm, I had such thick eyebrows before I had kids and then they disappeared horrible with chemo. dang. One follower suggested a sharpie pen, lol, well in light brown I think I would be thrilled. lol

I can't wait for the cold weather to arrive. The temperatures have gone up again here to 30ºC and I am soooo bored with the summer wardrobe, but I can't really wear sweaters in this heat, more like a bikini!!!
You look great in this outfit, the skirt is really cool. xoxoxo
