Paleness and Pineapples

Crop Top: Romwe (via Catsuit Latex)  Shorts: Macys   Hat: c/o Oasap   Bag: c/o Wholesale Dress   Flats: Target
Well helloooooo white stomach!
I apologize for the flash of paleness, but I've told you about my abdomen's aversion to being displayed, right? Which of course, bit me in the butt when I received this crop top from Romwe. Ah well. At least you can tell I actually have gotten some sun this summer. Just nowhere near my midsection, haha! I figured I'd better get one more good wear out of this summery top before the cool, fall weather sets in.

These high waisted shorts are a new clearance find from Macy's and my goodness, how has my wardrobe functioned so long without a pair like this? I wear them with absolutely everything!
It helps that it's black and fits with my barista dress code, of course. I swear, that's how I talk myself into purchasing all my clothes now. It's black or white? Hey, I can wear that for work!

Now I may not have the best stomach (um, the truth is I'm rather self conscious about it and know it's my weakest part), but I absolutely adore this crop top. I knew I could make it look fairly decent with something high waisted, so I decided to forego my inhibitions and wear this out to run a few errands in.

How many of you are tired of hearing comments like this from other girls:
"Oh, I wish I could pull of those (insert name of stylish item here), but I just have (insert imaginary flaw here) to be able to look good in it.

My response? If you like it, all you have to do to "pull it off" is wear it.

"I say, dress to please yourself. Listen to your inner muse and take a chance. Wear something that says 'Here I am!' today."

That cropped top is really eye-catching, it's so original and fancy. If you really love wearing such things and feeling comfortable in them, then why not?!
I personally don't like wearing cropped tops, because I don't feel comfortable in such things. I'm not shy or anything like that, I'm just devoted to a quiet style of dress.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I love crop tops and I think they look best with high waisted skirts or pants. I think you look really good in this outfit. I agree with you to a certain extent about wearing what you like but, on the other hand, I find that some things I quite like just do not suit me at all. I think there has to be a balance. xoxoxo

I really like the color of your cardigan, coordinates well with all the prints on your blouse. Would you like to follow each other on all socials to keep in touch?

I SO have a thing for pineapple prints. I don't know what it is... but they get me everytime!! <3 And this one is such a charmer, plus you're rocking the crop top. Love it so much with your new shorts! Happy weekend, girl! xo

You are so sweet being shy about your stomach! It's funny how we all have hang-ups about our bodies, yet other people can look at those same parts and see no problem, or even admire them! :)

I agree with your post - we should just wear what we want, we will all be happy that way!

I am so in love with this top, and I'm even more in love with your confidence in it. It's adorable, and you look great in it! I also love these shorts. Finding things that work for work is a great excuse to buy things in my opinion ;)

YES THANK YOU. Do you know how to pull off a particular piece of clothing? Put it on your body and think you pull it off. The end.

I'm loving this outfit, by the way, and I totally understand using work to justify new clothing. Literally yesterday I went thrifting with my sister because "I need sweaters for work." Soooooo yeah.

We should form a club called The Alliance Of Palest People You Know and only wear pineapple crop tops. ;)

love,
a

DUDE YES! I totally agree with the "pull it off" comment. Like, I believe there are certain styles that people know aren't flattering on them and therefor that such things may not feel as comfortable, (like I can't pull off certain layering combinations without looking like a marshmallow) but as for single pieces and accessories there is usually a way around that. I love your crop top! I admit, I'm still not brave enough to ever bare my stomach but maybe one day that will happen. ;) I love the pineapple print on you though, Miss Linda! With all these pineapples and dragon fruits on your blog... girl, I must say that your style is fruitful. B))))

Have a wonderful week, dude! My comments have been sparse, I feel, but I'm totally here and stalking you and your lovely self.

Preach! Seriously, if you like something, wear it! That's how you begin to challenge societal views on what's appropriate or attractive on different body types. Kudos to you. :)

I love this outfit; the pineapple crop top is so cute, and I love it accented with all the black and the mustard cardigan!
