Cropped Cutie

I have never felt very comfortable exposing my stomach, hence the brilliant flash of white you see whenever I raise my arms in these photos. But ah well, this crop top from WalG is just too pretty and perfect for summer to be self conscious about wearing! Paired with high waisted bottoms, this swingy little number should get some use. WalG is a young London label offering transitional, stylish pieces that work from day to night! Plus, you know they're a trendy brand when you find their clothes in Topshop.
I've been having quite a different summer than I'm used to this year. It's a happy one if not filled with some apprehensive feelings about upcoming changes. I'm not certain if I've directly announced this via the blog, but I've made a decision as far as what my next move will be.
So it turns out having your only daughter decide she wants to drop out of college and hop on the next plane out of the country isn't exactly comforting for parents to hear. When I'd started contemplating traveling for a year instead of finishing school, my parents were initially pretty chill about it. But then it was as if overnight, all the news articles about "What Happens to Women Traveling Alone" popped up in every single one of their newsfeeds, because that was all I heard about in the following days.
Travel is definitely something I see in my future and I am certain I will fulfill those dreams. Not in the next year perhaps, but definitely soon after that. For now, I have taken steps to secure a place in Boise, where I will be attending Boise State University in the spring! I'll be doing an awkward, split year between my current community college for the fall and then moving in January to finish up at BSU.
On a side note, I'm taking a Women's Self Defense class in the fall that I'm super excited about. You know, in case I need to break someone's wrist when I'm jet setting around the world later.

You look lovely in that crop top, I wish I had to confidence for them, but I instantly feel naked as soon as any of my tummy shows.
Ooh I want to take a self defence class too, I think it would give lots of confidence.

Oh my, those shorts look so comfy and are yet perfectly stylish! Also really nice with the shirt...
Have a great day,

P.S.: Thanks for leaving such nice comment on my last post!
This crop shirt is really pretty! I just love everything with flowers on this Summer. Also love your hair crown and your rings! Perfect look alltogether!
xx
"the brilliant flash of white" not gonna lie, that made me lol. I am the same way. I will never show my stomach. I am super self conscious of my body and it's weird because I can walk around in my underwear and feel awesome and then a bathing suit that covers just as much makes me run for cover. Two piece bikinis are scary!!
But enough about underwear-me.
YOU ARE ROCKING THIS TOP! And this entire outfit. And the flower crown. All around rad ensemble, Miss Linda!
Women's self defense class sounds like a great class to take! Especially with the creepers out there who don't respect women (sighs deeply). Well, good for you! Get prepared to break some wrists! ;)
I love crop tops and I agree that they look best with high waisted pants or skirts, although occasionally the shorter ones look really cool in the summer. This one is lovely and you've paired it perfectly with the black shorts.
You're plans sound great. I think it's a good idea not to drop out of college. Have you ever thought about applying for arasmus and doing a year's study in Europe, or don't they have that deal in the US. I'm sure they do because I've met American students here in Spain. I'm not sure if it's called Arasmus in the States. Some of my friends did their arasmus in the US, so I would think it does exist. May be worth checking into.

loveeeee that cropped top! totally agree that they look best with highwaisted anything :) and those shorts are so adorable! the ties on the sides are a nice detail! and heck yes, Wal G is awesome and we're Wal G buddies this week because i just wore the brand too ;)

I think it's the right decision to finish your studies and then discover the world. it's always easier to get done with the studying thing in a row and not split those years. at least that's how I see it and I studied 15 years in a row. sounds like forever, haha.
anyway, I like your dreamy summer ensemble, especially the bag and the top.

I have been following a blog that is just about that. A girl is travelling on her own and writes about it on the bloggy. You can check her out: http://www.edgymix.com/
She says it's not that big of a deal, you just have to be street smart and avoid shady situations. Btw, buy pepper spray! There are lots of different ones around, but the best ones are the sprays that shoot liquid, because it shoots to a bigger distance and if it's windy it won't change the spray's direction.
Also, you rock! :D
LOVE the floral crop top Linda! a pair of black shorts really goes well with crop tops! I'm loving this trend nowadays! Chic and effortlessly put together outfit, i must say!
wow, that's so good to know! traveling is really exciting and kind of scary at the same time, though it surely guarantees experience and learning! i'm glad you'll finish your study first before hopping on a plane :)

I love crop tops, but I'm still getting into the habit of wearing them myself. Especially for warm weathers, they just hit the spot!

Aw, I wouldn't worry about wearing crop tops ie, your stomach! I think you look just fabulous with the whole outfit. I think my favorite part is that flower crown. It's so sweet and just perfect with your top:)
Anyway, I think that if fate is calling you to travel, then travel. But I guess it is important to get that education so you'll have something to fall back on when you return. You can't study abroad through your school? But if you do end up, make sure you take lots of pictures for your readers to check out!:)
Heheh I'm taking a self defense class, also. It's more like my mother is making me before I set off for college but hopefully, I will learn a thing or to on how to deal with crazy attackers if there is ever a time I need to deal with them. (Sorry for the huge sentence!) Anyway, let me know how your class turns out! I hope you enjoy it as much as you hope you will.

Hi Linda, whatever your plans are, you have the capability in making them a success. Travelling to third world countries alone is certainly dangerous but if you're planning to visit Europe and similar places, you should be okay. The new university change sounds interesting, good luck with it all. Love your pretty bohemian outfit, you look gorg. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on my last post. Have a splendid weekend!
Oh, I'm in love with your gold accessories!

That's really exciting about going to bsu in the winter anx what a smart idea to take a self defense class! (they're actually a ton of fun, I've been doing martial arts since I was little and it's really fun!). You'll be already for your travels! Do you know where all you'd like to travel to?
Ps- hah, I almost forgot to say how cute you look with the braids, your hair is getting so long!
