Black Magic

Skort: c/o Romwe   Top: Target   Boots: Just Fab   Necklace: c/o Lylif   Watch: c/o Feral Watches
I remember when the Zara skort hit the fashion scene and how that trend blew up. Every person I followed on the blogosphere seemed to own one!
Well, despite it being really late, I can say that I finally have one as well. Albeit, it's not the actual skort from Zara, it's a pretty good replica from Romwe! Catsuit-Latex has really been generous in letting me sample such trends from them.

Anyway, this is a super dark outfit, and that's because I'd just gotten off of work when Kirsten and I decided to go get it photographed. Have I mentioned how much I love my barista dress code? I can get away with so many different styles! As long as it's black and white and fairly decent, I can wear shorts, skirts, dresses...and skorts! ;)

I feel quite witchy and 90's grunge in this outfit, and all the more so with my reddish hued hair. When people ask why I decided to dye it, I just shrug and say: "I'm different from who I was before. I want my outside to match the change inside."

Here's to making changes in your life, no matter how big or small! We'd all like to progress and better ourselves, I'm sure, and no matter how simple a change we make, I believe it all adds up.

Wow, I really love that--"I want my outsides to match my insides." You know that thing they say about girls getting major haircuts when they want to change the direction of their lives, or have already. It must apply to hair color too :) I really do love that subtle red though.

And I totally agree about the shorts haha--they're still everywhere! I always love these fierce and edgy looks of yours--the necklace adds a bright punch to the black but I love how you played up the monochromatic scheme. Denim brings everything down to earth and is the perfect touch.

Dang girl, you've had a busy week and a half! I'm happy the fourth was a memorable day for you and that you read TFIOS--I wish I had, but I saw the movie first. As for cappucinos, I'm glad I'm more educated about drinks now! I'm not a coffee person so it hasn't been a problem but it's good to know. Your lakeside photos are so pretty --here's to summer adventures!

I really do love this post though--small changes adding up is so true! Have a beautiful week, Linda!

YES. WORK THAT BLACK. Man, it looks good. It looks like the good kind of Witchy, you know? The badass, don't-mess-with-me kind. The you kind. ;)

For realz, though, how everything is all angular and dramatic and then the denim comes in and ties it all together super cool and casual.

Whenever I find myself itching for new hair it does come right along with a major life change.

love,
a

Ah.. so lucky that your work code is pretty easy going- as long as it's black and white!! Super envious, haha. Hey, you're not late- I still need to find myself a good pair of them. They look fantabulous on you, Linda! Have a great week!

hey, Linda! your job's dresscode indeed is nice ;) and I like that skort. I also remember the times when that trend started and everyone had to have it. I myself don't have it since I haven't even seen it in our stores and I don't actually need it anyway. but then again, who knows what the future brings, right? :P

Hahaha, I know what you mean by feeling late on getting to certain trends! I feel like that's me all the time. We can be late bloomers together, bahahaha. :)

But AUGH, how I adore that skirt! The cut is the absolute cutest and it flatters you so so well! I'm glad that you found one that you love. Even better that you've got a greyscale monochromatic color scheme to work with for work!! Wahoo!! Black and white is surprisingly versatile, no!?

I hope you have an amazing Friday my dear Linda. I love you forever and ever!!!!!!!

Love you in this gorgeous all-black outfit + the denim jacket was a gorgeous touch!! <3 I'm all for working in an environment where you have the freedom to dress how you like - I've always hated working in super conservative environments! Happiest Friday, girl!! xoxo
