I've had this crop top sitting in my closet for ages just waiting for the weather to warm up. Well, the day finally arrived when I'd had enough. It was time!
So a problem I discovered was that this crop top likes to turn into a sports bra throughout the day...haha, it's constantly riding up. Ah well, for a day, it wasn't too bad. I wore this to explore downtown a bit and hit up a new cafe with my mom. It's quite spectacular in my opinion, and I'm certain it will turn into my new favorite place for brunch. In fact, I'm hoping to return and get some photos there when it's not so busy perhaps. The center pieces on their tables are classical books tied up with a ribbon!
Mother and I ordered strawberry Nutella crepes there, and goodness, those went down way too fast.
Yup, definitely going back there soon! I need to try their Nutella mocha next...
So remember when I mentioned I became the talk of Senate when I disappeared upstairs with a boy? (Read more about that here). Well, one late night, I went to the Senate offices to work on homework and ran into some of the boys while there. One pulled up a chair next to me and leaned in.
"So, what happened with you and that guy during the Masquerade Ball?"
Another head popped up from the cubicle next to me to join the conversation.
"Yeah, whatever did happen anyway?"
Out of the corner of my eye, a third face leaned in to hear more.
Seriously guys? We're doing girl talk right now?
I wasn't sure how to explain it when I wasn't even certain what went wrong myself. But I'm a person who figures things out by talking it out, so as I tried to put it into words, I found them.
"I like getting to know someone as friends first. To start things right off the bat by telling them, 'You're so beautiful' places these expectations on what a person wants from you. If we're friends first, it's a more genuine connection."
There are so many beautiful girls in the world. Honestly, I walk campus daily and see gorgeous faces everywhere. What I've concluded is that physical beauty is everywhere - there are so many lovely women in the world, each a unique blend of features. It's easy to start the comparison game, and we need to realize we'll never win that. There will always be someone prettier/taller/skinnier/curvier/etc. than you. However, when I meet a guy, I want to meet someone who's interested to get to know what's under the surface.
Someone who can make me forget the person from my past that still seems to haunt me.
Right now, this is my jam:
