Money & Macchiatos

Tank & Jeans: Target   Kimono: thrifted   Wedges: Go Jane
I re-dyed my hair! It's subtle, but definitely added an increase in the red tone. When I went to the beauty store to pick out the dyes, I chose two different ones to mix, taking a gamble on my ability to choose the right colors. A bright red mixed with dark red for brown hair created the perfect tone. I'm so pleased with it and am proud to say that my mother did an amazing job coloring my monster head of hair. Did you know she used to be a cosmetologist? She had her own beauty shop in the Philippines. It was entertaining because I could sense the moment she clicked back in time to her old profession. Her hands instantly became more confident and diligent in her application of the dye, and everything felt more methodical. She definitely remembered everything she learned!

Oh, so thank you to everyone who took the time to read my grand ole tale in the last post! Haha, sorry if I built up your hopes only to bring them crashing down. However, I view it as only a positive experience! While Mr. BLT was interesting and certainly caused some intrigue, I'm glad I finally did run into him again (and what a pleasant ego boost to be asked out so quickly). Otherwise, I would have always wondered what might've been. Well, now I know, and it's a big fat nothing. Haha, it's good to have those type of experiences, and I'm glad it went rather smoothly for me.

Anyway, I titled this post in reference to my barista job because this is what I wore to go from classes straight to work. While we have to conform to the black and white dress code, it still allows for a lot of room for creativity! My kimono was shed for work, what with it feeling like 200 degrees behind the espresso bar anyway. These floral jeans from Target are certainly proving to be a good investment though. Everytime I wear them I feel like I'm wearing art on my legs and get compliments on their print.

Business was fairly slow Monday night, so my co-worker Liz and I practiced our macchiato-making skills. Here are the results:
Nothing like making macchiatos and money. I'm really loving this barista gig!

And to end this post, here is my new favorite vocabulary word.
Procaffeinating: to delay or postpone action; put off doing something until you've had coffee.

I didn't know you have to wear black and white to be a barista, but makes sense. And I LOVE the way you switched up your black-and-white. I think your outfit is fantastic!

Oh, I love your hair! It looks gorgeous in the sunlight. And amazing floral pants! I've been on the hunt for some colourful or printed pants, but relying on thrifing does have its downsides. But I'm loving yours!

I love procaffinating. Nice word, probably going to see if I can use that at work without being utterly laughed at. :D

I love your new hair. It looks amazing in that lighting. So nice your mum knows how to do it! I got my husband to do my last dye job and he only got it in patches. Only that ended up looking kind of cool on my short hair by accident.

Your mum certainly did a great job on your hair, it looks terrific!! Love these cool flowery pants, nice outfit.

Love your hair! <3 I think Filipinos have this talent to DIY or to learn things quickly on their own. My sisters and I do our hair all the time, too! :)

I'm so jealous of people who have coffee talent. I'm lucky when I can make a decent shot of espresso. That machiatto looks delicious!

Dang, Linda, it seems forever since I have been here to comment and share some blog love. My gracious. Too bad things didn't work out, but heck, you know now, anyway.

Love your hair and loved hearing about your Mom's 'professionalism' coming back. We love the professionals, huh?

Ok, until next time - take care my Idaho friend. (you know I bet we are about 5 hours away from each other, if that).

Your hair is looking exceptionally lovely, so lucky to have a mum who's a cosmetologist! Adore those cute printed pants and happy to hear you're enjoying the job now. I am always procaffeinating that means, lol

I was actually going to comment how red your hair looked in these pictures. I love it! There's something so fiery about a mane of red hair that fits you perfectly. Tell you mum she did a great job. :)

We recently got mandatory t-shirts at my work and it's really bumming me out. I would much rather have to be confined to certain colors than one piece of clothing. You rocked your colors, by the way. :D

love,

I shamefully admit I have no idea what those are. I'm pretty much a steamer only girl. (Hazelnut steamers, the best!) I love your kimono, those really are the best, aren't they? And you so pull off the floral denim, I've been really lazy about wearing anything but black jeans lately.
