Hart of Idaho

Vest & Tank: Forever 21   Jeggings: AE   Bag & Earrings: Rue 21   Heels: thrifted
This is how quickly I got addicted to Hart of Dixie. I'm already naming blog posts after the show and am absolutely obsessed with Zoe Hart's style. Can we say adorable? I'll probably be doing a TV Fashion Inspiration post based on this show!
The reason I'm naming this post after the stylish doctor is because she's always rocking amazing shoes. Seriously, it doesn't matter that she went from New York City to small town Bluebell, Alabama. She still wears heels that would own the streets of the big city. So in honor of her, I decided to shrug off the raised eyebrows of my fellow small town neighbors. I clomped around in my heels proudly!

Anyway, when I ventured into the mall, I was innocently planning on just popping into American Eagle to pick out some new jeans. My old ones have been wearing out, and it was time to replace them. These jeggings are definitely making me happy with my legs! However, the shopping didn't end there. When I passed by Rue 21, I couldn't resist peering in to check out the clearance. Their fringe items are spectacular! I have a crush on my new bag. Is it sad that a heavily fringed bag gives me more butterflies than a guy?
Maybe I need to reconsider my priorities...

So there are two things I've realized ever since I got into fashion:
1. It's difficult to walk gracefully down stairs in heels. At least, it is for me...maybe I need more practice. It can't be natural to feel like a wobbly, prancing, newborn giraffe while going down stairs, right?
2. If you're an average sized girl (ahem, 5'5"?) and you wear an average pair of heels (say, 4"?), that puts you at 5'9", which seems to be the average height of most guys where I live. This is really depressing...

I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

AAAH LINDA! Your hair up like that is pretty dang smokin', if I may say myself. I am loving all this orange you're wearing. You're absolutely cute! Can I keep a mini Linda in my pocket? I would very much like that.

I lol'd at that newborn giraffe comparison Perfect. You'll get used to it! I don't really wear anything over 2 or maybe even 3 inches so I can't help you much there. ;)

I am also so super glad I'm not the only one who thinks about this height thing! That's why I'm glad the guy I'm sort of crushing on is 6'1... sigh. At 5'7", I don't even wear 4" heels, but I COULD and still be shorter than him and that's magical. Must... persue... him... alsohelikespokemonandksfdjhgk
ok I'm sorry I'll stop I'm freakin' out way too much over here XD

I'm loving that vest -so adorable! And those heels are amazing. I feel you, I'm like 5'5 5'6ish and I love 4 or 5 inch heels. People look at me like I'm a giant sometimes. oh well, they can deal!

Also, I was catching up on your blog and the date story was great - even if it didn't have the fairy tale ending!

Shoes and bags are more exciting than men, in general. Your priorities are fine! And you look amazonian and amazing in those heels. Work it work it

American Eagle and their jeans make me so so happy (I'm waiting on a shipment right now!)...Love this fun look, Linda. The fringe bag, the orangey-ness...THE EARRINGS!!!

Also, I recently bought a pair of heels (The ankle strap kind that are all the rage? Yes, I gave in to the trend...)but I'm at a loss at when to wear them. I'll just take inspiration from you and wear them just 'cause!

Oh, I love the boho in you comes out! That bag is making me drool so your feeling are warranted, girl! I really like your vest collection too (something I desperately need more of). And I must say, I never really have the height dilemma - even at only 5'4'' I wish I was shorter, the more pixie/fairy like the better haha. But I see what you mean! I'm happy that Paul is six foot, and I know height is a BIG issue with a lot of guys. See, they've got body problems just like us! Hah.

I'm totally diggin this look on you, lady! The boho suits you and that bag is perfect! As for the heels things, I give you props for wearing them, I avoid heels at all costs (even at 5'3' I feel like they make me too tall..plus, stairs..yeah)

I'm looking for a good pair of jeans but I didn't like the ones from American Eagle :( I was a little bit dissapointed.

This outfits remains alot of you. Colorful and Fringe jajaja You are 5'5? You are taller than Me. I am 5'3 and when I wear high heels also I'm to the average height of the guys here jajaja

I have a love hate relationship with that show. It's good, but frustrating (damn I wish Zoe would just be with George already) and so cheesy and predictable. But her style is beyond! Kind of reminds me of those days of the OC when I also worshiped her style there too!

I know what you mean about getting sucked in, everyone kept talking about how awesome breaking bad was, we bought the first season and yikes, stayed up until 5 in the morning watching it. SO GOOD. We're on season 3 right now and it's just freaking amazing. I haven't seen any of hart of dixie but from what I hear, the fashion is pretty fabulous.

Speaking of fabulous, your fringe bag is pretty fabulous! I've been really wanting a black leather fringe bag and haven't had any luck yet but your's is beautiful! and wow, am I jealous of your bare arms, it's snowing right now. :P Blah!

I love reading your posts, they're so entertaining. Totally agree with you Linda, never worry about raised eyebrows and people looking, wear whatever you want if it makes you feel good. I think you should reconsider your priorities, fringed bags should never give you more butterflies that a guy hahaha.
Walking down stairs elegantly in heels does take a bit of practice and yes it is a bit depressing that none of the guys in your town are taller than 5'9". Luckily smaller heels and flats are trendy at the moment hahahaha.

As an Asian, I find it hilarious when an Asian guy (who are reputably short) tries to talk me up and all I can think is "this isn't gonna work cuz I'd never be able to wear heels around you".

I love the frays on the handbag and the gorgeous earrings.

And as they say... Fashion over comfort, right? That's the only thing that gets me through wearing painful heels.

The outer orange wear looks really comfy. The heels looks nicely paired with the fringe bag. Actually the heels don't look quite high, It looks pretty comfy. My work shoes are usually 1" I think. My wedding shoes and special occasion shoes are all 4" and I find it difficult to walk in them to take public transport.

PS: I had to google the height into metrics to know how tall you are!

I LOVE that third shot!!! I had to look at it for a while to figure out how you took it.:) Anyhow, yes, heels and stairs are a bi*ch! Upstairs - yes/maybe. Downstairs - NO.:D But you look great, babe, very sexy without even trying it. You can tell by these pics that you feel good in your new jeans.
