The Heelless Cool Girl Style

As fashion bloggers, we come across so much style content in our multiple feeds. Perhaps many of you are like me, and have been conditioned to think that an oufit is only completed once a tall pair of shoes have been added to the mix. However, with a jam packed schedule, I've become weary of my pretty yet impractical shoes. Today, you can most often find me in flat boots, or occassionally, a pair with a short, chunky heel that's manageable.

Naturally, I started paying more attention to fashion bloggers who wore similar footwear. Here's a roundup of some of the best styles that were topped off (or toed off?) with some perfectly cute and comfortable shoes. Enjoy some heelless, cool-girl style!
If you want to find a blogger who effortlessly creates outfits that are both stylish yet comfortable, check out this girl's blog. She's got that Cali-cool vibe down. More often than not, you'll find her sporting sneakers or cool flats in her outfits - all while looking incredible.
I have no idea what this girl says in her posts, but her style speaks for itself. She's French, and she's flawless. Yup, from Cali to France, these girls have got that effortless thing down pat.
I've followed Alexandra for what feels like the longest time, and she's one of my absolute favorite bloggers. Her casual-cool style is something I strive to emanate!

Feeling inspired yet?
How many of you feel this vague pressure to slip on pretty heels or wedges just to get a better aesthetic in your photos? I can't be the only one who faces that! Lately though, I've just worn what I feel comfortable in, and I feel just as fabulous.

No matter what you wear, as long as it makes you feel good and confident, I say go for it!

It's awesome to see flatter footwear becoming more popular. Designers are expanding their collections to include them. Much better for your feet too!

I think about the occasion, weather, stuff like that first and then choose my shoes/ boots. heels don't make photos look good when one is wearing them at the wrong place/time. shoes must be comfy in the first place, not as high as possible :)

I am all for flats, the only time I can suffer heels is at functions and evening events. Flats are so much more versatile, comfy and functional. love these inspirations! Happy Friday dear!

There is no way that I could wear heels everyday. Yes, they do look nice and all but killing my feet is just not my thing haha. Rock those flat shoes! And I just can't get over leather pants, they look so cool!!

i never really used to wear high heels that often but I totally agree that its too impracticle when you're constantly on the move! And plus I'm such a klutz so I'm always tripping on uneven sidewalks even with flat shoes haha. But this past fashion week was the first time I really realized how crazy a lot of fashion bloggers are! I went to one show the first day of nyfw and it was right after a huge snowstorm so I experienced first hand how anything other than snow boots would just not work haha. All those fabulous street style and photos from nyfw make me laugh and cringe a bit after realizing the reality of it all.

Yeah, dude! I know that feel! I'm usually sticking to my pairs of JCs which are all around 1.5-2" tall aka perfect! I can't wear entirely flat shoes because I have a weird arch or something idk. Anything over three inches would make me a one terrifying tall stick o' bamboo... yikes! I guess I've never much worried about trying to look impressive with tall heels since they are so painful... hahaha!

These are such cute outfits you've featured with flatter shoes, though! And all so edgy and like you'd wear. Aaah, those converses!

I've been into flat shoes and boots, or booties with low chunky heels during this winter and I'll be following through into the summer. Sooo comfy. Love your outfit.

Your last sentence is definitely something I wholeheartedly agree with! I follow Coline too and I also think she's damn flawless, I especially love her shots hair.:) But I didn't know Alessandra, she's got some style! And again, I LOVE her hair!! And of course the flat, comfortable shoe collection. I NEVER can wear heels during the day while running about. I can't get things done if my feet are in pain, I just can't.:)

In the vast majority if my posts I am in flats, because it just isn't practical to wear heels, usually because I have to carry my computer around with me, I don't need that kind of pressure on my poor feet :)

I used to wear high heels all the time before my knee injury, then comfort became more important than anything else when I'm shoe shopping now! :)

I think photos look great no matter what shoes are worn, but that's just me :)

I basically never wear heels--seriously, they're painful. And, I'm taller than my man when I wear them, so it's not necessarily a look I'm really trying to go for. There are plenty of cute and comfy options!

I totally agree! I used to think outfits were so incomplete without heels, but over the years I've learned that it's SO not practical. I still love heels, but I do find myself veering more towards flats than heels for sure. Thanks for this awesome post and great blog recs!

A Petite Treat

I wear a variety of shoe styles, heels mostly for work and loads of boots, etc. I tend to relate it to the climate, my comfort, and my outfit! :) Great round-up of styles.
