Black As Leather

Dress: Forever 21   Jacket & Tights: c/o Persunmall   Boots: Just Fab   Necklace: c/o Lylif
If you read my last post, thank you for your thoughts and encouraging comments. Our pets become a part of the family, so losing Prince was jarring to us. At first I felt a bit silly making such a dedication post to a dog, but I'm glad everyone was able to relate and understand why it meant so much to me. I think having a pet that you bond with is a gift that only enriches your life.

I've decided that a cure for sadness is dressing well. So when I got a package of goodies from Persunmall, this leather sleeved jacket was one I was looking forward to the most. Looking back at recent purchases (see here and here), I certainly seem to have a penchant for mixed media jackets! What I really love about this one are the ribbed elbow sections. Since Persunmall is similar to Oasap and other Asian-based online retailers, I was nervous about the sizing, and I'm sad to say that this one is a bit tight. It still works in creating the right "look" for an outfit, but as far as practicality, I'm not sure I'll be keeping this one around.
For adding an urban edge to my new, high-low dress and desert booties, I'll take it though.
At least these heart tights weren't a disappointment! They're a fun way to add some print to a plain outfit.

And on another note, anyone else starting to worry about holiday weight gain? Haha, I know I am! Without my busy school schedule and fitness classes, it's as if I'm falling into a Netflix and Pokemon playing black hole. Yes, I busted out my old DS again, don't judge me. A true Pokemon master never stops (also, Ali, I'm insanely jealous of your Christmas gift...it's going on my birthday wishlist now).

What are you doing to combat all the goody plates/baskets that get sent out this time of year? Or are you like me and figure you'll make up for it at the gym later (as in, possibly weeks from now later)?

Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.
Proverbs 23:20-21

Yeah, sometimes clothes from Asian stores are seriously small and short (dresses!), which is a shame! You still look very cute though!

Have a great day,

Don't ever apologize about mourning the loss of a loved on, especially since this is your blog<3 I lost my first dog a few days after Christmas 2 years ago, and it hurts like hell.
Your jacket is incredible, by the way. And I'm so jealous about your lack of snow.

First of all, the outfit is absofruitly adorable and I love all the little details. Those tights continue to stun me. :)

secondly, I want to say how sorry I am for the loss of your pet. I understand. I grew up with one cat, Smokey, who was with us until he was 21 years old. I was devastated when he died and I grieved for him more than I have for any person. There is just something about a pet that cuts deep.

love,
a

I like the colour combo in this outfit though - the taupe and black look nice together.

I wanted to comment on this post and your outfit and how cool your shots look but I can't... I read the first line and checked the previous post. My dog, who truly is my best friend, is 11 years old and is an old old man, he has diabetes and a bunch of other stuff and I dreamed he died tonight so reading your words... To say that I teared up is an understatement. I feel for you, babe, and I feel for Prince. You literally killed me with that last shot of him...

Linda, you look fabulous in this dress! My goodness. Lovely.

It is hard to lose a pet. It is. Be sad as you need. Also be grateful for your memories.

Have a fabulous 2014 year in school and life. ♥ I'm not going anywhere, but that was just profound, I guess.

I really love that neutral dress, I can see you wearing it in so many different and fun ways. The shape of it is so nice! And yes, that jacket is fantastic, what a great thing to brighten your day!
I absolutely understand missing your pet. I was in college when my cat died as well and it was heartbreaking. They are so special and always unconditionally loving when we need them. Hugs!

Ah Linda, I LOVE THIS JACKET ON YOU! I'm sorry it's a bit too tiny. I know what you mean about the Asian companies fitting odd--they are always a bit too short for me! Dem dresses, hahaha. But it's so cute and we can't tell so at least it looks nice here. But still, that stinks when things don't fit right! Do you size up? Because when I size it that helps. I guess not having boobs helps, so that may be another "problem" (BOOBS ARE NOT A PROBLEM THEY ARE GR8). ;)

haha somehow I have maintained my weight through the holidays with all the biking I do. I guess the whole not being able to eat wheat thing helps with not devouring cookies, but that doesn't mean I'd still eat some and man my way through the stomachaches... pf, don't worry about it, Linda! Everyone gains equal weight during the holidays, so it's not like you're REAAALLY gaining weight if everyone else is!!! :D :D ALSO KEEp PLAYING POKEMON YEAH! I seriously hope you get Pokemon for your birthday. > w< It's pretty darn fun so far, but the DS and nintendo games will always be the most special! I am curious, have you ever played Animal Crossing? *___*

I must have missed this, i am so sorry for your loss. They're not pets, they're people and it is devestating when they pass on. When our first dog rachael had to be put down qas the only time i've seen my dad cry, he'd raised her from a puppy before he married my mom and truely loved her. It was 13 years before he could stand the thought of raising another lab and he just found one eariler this year, its like watching him with rachael all over again to see that kind of love. Anyways, what i mean to say is, pets are special and it hurts so bad. Wishing you all the best.
