Frances Photography: Falling For You

Are my friends not gorgeous or what? This is my roommate Corina and her "Baby Bear" Tuyen. I've always enjoyed hanging out with these two because it doesn't feel like I'm the third wheel. So when the leaves started changing, I planted the idea of doing a fall themed couple shoot in their minds, and it worked! I got them out there in between classes and managed to get a few photos that I think are winners. Corina is really pleased, since she recently bought some frames and now has pictures she'd love to display in them!

So sorry for taking a mini blog break there for a while. I've been busy just...enjoying life. Instead of worrying about a blog post or replying to comments, I've been living moment by moment. There are those instances in life where you laugh so hard over nothing, but because it is shared, it is special. I'm just grateful I get to have so many with my close friend and roommate Corina. Then there are new instances that feel reminiscent to a year ago, and yet it is with someone unfamiliar. It's a scary thing to open up to another person and allow them to know your thoughts. But it can be rewarding too, and validating to realize this person knows you and what you stand for, and despite their personal differences, they aren't scared away. Not yet at least...haha!

It's a wonderful feeling to be swept away by inspiration in class and work to complete something that satisfies your creativity. Right now my work is on such a small scale too, but the enjoyment that comes with it is anything but minimal. I recently had a chat with my Design and Drawing instructor and she's such a sweet encouragement. I'll have to get photos rounded together and do a post on what I've been working on.

I've been giving thought to what I'm going to do after my time here at community college, and the opportunities presenting themselves are exciting. It may not be the cookie cutter way to go, but I'm going to fit in my traveling dreams in there somewhere. It's something that I've longed to do for too long not to seriously try and make it come true!

Anyway, hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! I wish I had more time to have gotten something together to post that was more seasonal, but I had such a low key night anyway. Mr. Scruffy and I curled up in front of the TV, watched horror movies (throughout which there were sporadic tickle wars, which wasn't a war so much as a massacre since he's not half as ticklish as I am) before I switched on Netflix and made him watch New Girl with me. I'm almost disappointed though, because now I didn't get any cool zombie dreams. Sigh.

Hey Linda,

Even though we are acquainted on Instagram, I’m dropping in on your blog. I cannot believe how once I connected with some of my blog friends on Instagram, we stopped visiting each other’s blogs. Lol… So while I’m having the time at home today on a stay-home Sunday, I decided to find all my instablog friends, visit their blogs and see what they are up to. So here I am!

I got inspired to visit your blog from the photos you shared on your Instagram page. I really love how all the photos turn out and if I were your roomie, I would be exhilarated to have such beautiful couple shots taken with such beautiful fall background. You are really talented not just in skills but in capturing emotions.

I hope we could continue to connect on our blogs coz that’s where we started from. =).

Aw, Corina and her boyfriend are simply precious! I'm totally in love with those shots where you focused on the tree leaves but you can still see the cute couple. You're so talented and arsty, Linda!

You deserve a break from blogging to just live--no need to apologize! I've been keeping up with your blog but unable to comment with so much to do. I loved that post about the ropes course challenge--way to go, fearless girl! And embracing yourself flaws and all is just a part of life we all face. You're so strong and beautiful--always remember that!

Glad to hear that Mr. Scruffy likes your style as well. He's a keeper for sure (:

As for this post, it is true that sharing personal things with people can be scary, but like my favorite singer Sara Bareilles says, "vulnerability is one of the most precious gifts you can give." I also squealed when I saw that you were listening to her haha. She's the best!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and fall, Linda! Go for those traveling dreams!

They really are a good-looking couple! And individuals too.:) Great shots, babe, I like the editing on them. And I hope the break did you well! Sometimes having a blog can feel like a burden even though it's completely voluntary and it's supposed to be all fun and games since it's a hobby... I don't know why that is like that?? But everyone's allowed to have those off days, right?:)
