Cuff It Up

Sweater: (thrifted) Forever 21   Jeans: American Eagle   Heels: (thrifted) Nine West   Headband: Rue 21   Bag: gift   Necklace: c/o Oasap   Cuffs: c/o Shop Lately
In case you can't tell from the abundance of photos, I really liked this outfit. It seems as if fall weather just inspires me! I feel more liberated in implementing the darker colors in my wardrobe, which I've naturally been drawn to lately.

These Wonderwoman cuffs are from ShopLately, and while I love how they look and the idea, I'm really disappointed in the execution. It may be because I don't have tiny little wrists, but the snap that's supposed to stay in place are constantly disconnecting and they open up and fall off. By the middle of the day, I finally surrendered and just took them off.

So whenever I enter my favorite thrift store lately, I'll try reaaaally hard to avoid the clothes section. The last time I went I successfully only thrifted knick knacks and decorations for our apartment. However, the time before that, as I was stubbornly walking past the clothing racks and putting up mental blindfolds, my eyes were instead redirected towards the shoe racks.
That was my downfall.

I spotted these black, caged heels and had to restrain myself from letting out a squeal. This silhouette of shoe had been catching my eye on blogs and I'd been inadvertantly searching for a pair for myself. The thing is, while thrift stores are fantastic treasure stores, shoes are really hard to find because of the vast number of shoes in different sizes. I rarely find cute shoes that are my size - most of the ones I like are too small! However, when I checked and saw it was a 9, I couldn't resist snagging them. How could I say no to the $5 price tag, right?

I have a problem, don't I...?

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

you're right, it really is hard to find great shoes from thrift stores. usually everything great is too small for me too. so I think you did the right thing, Linda ;) oh and that is such a fierce look overall, those bold golden pieces, burgundy, black leather... definitely a fierce mixture of great styles!

Nice shoe find! I love that feeling when you find the perfect shoe in your size especially at a thrift store! My favorite pair of black heels ever are from a thrift store, and I could tell by the brand that they were originally from Target! Best buy ever. :)

Loving your gold cuffs by the way! I wish I could pull off cuffs, but every time I wear them I feel weighed down for some reason haha I know, it's weird.

Oooh! I like this outfit!! The burgundy pants and galazy headband are so great together! I'm sorry the cuffs aren't as wonderful as you'd hoped, though.
Think of your thrifting obsession this way: if you weren't buying things you need at a ridiculously low price, you would most likely buy them full price if you feel desperate enough. I speak from experience. Hahaha!!
