White Daises

This daisy print tank is one of the under $3 finds from Rue 21. I forgot to get a detail shot of the back, because there's a sweet cut out detail. Ah well, next time. Anyway, I wore this to go see The Mortal Instruments with Corina - which was SO good! I'm probably not the best movie critique, but this movie is right up my alley - demons, angels, underworlders, and magic! I loved the book series, but since it's been a while since I read them, I'm not as offended by any missing scenes. Ha, of course, if I re-read the series (which I plan on doing now) that may change. For now though, I enjoyed the movie. At first, when I saw who was playing Jace, I wrinkled my nose and thought: Him!? But he's...he...he looks like some tiny, twig-like musician, not a warrior!

By the end of the movie, I was completely won over. Jamie Bower sold his performance of Jace, the arrogant, self-centered, yet vulnerable and loveable Shadowhunter. Plus, Lily Collins was decent, and the chemistry between the two was believable. The humor in the movie had Corina and I cracking up, and it's a good thing the theater was mostly empty.

I don't always pin my hair up like this, but when I do, it turns into compliment central. For a day of work, the waitresses always squeal how they love my hair like this and that it's so cute. One cook looked at my head in bewilderment and just asked, "How did you do that?"

Hahaha! It's actually really easy, I just feel self conscious when I put it up in these milkmaid braids. But hey, sometimes a girl likes to experiment.

So at work, I had a random moment happen. It was the day I'd put my hair up in milkmaid braids too, keep in mind. A guy comes up to my register to ask for cash back. Since I've just watched the Mortal Instruments movie and he somewhat resembles Jace, let's call him J.

J smiled and said my name in a friendly way as I helped him out, which always slightly startles me until I remember, Oh yeah, I'm wearing a name tag.
"I like your necklace," he said.
"I like your shirt. Isn't that the Boy London line?"
"Yeah, I had to order it online to get it here. You've been to Europe?"
"Oh no, I wish!"

Anyway, his friend comes up, and J turns to him and says, "Yeah, this is the girl I told you about."
Excuse me??
"Um, what?" I asked.
His friend turned to me. "Will you turn around?"
J laughed and explained, "I told him you have really cool hair."

Then a nearby waitress who'd heard part of our conversation came over and loudly told me, "I think he's flirting with you!"
The boys awkwardly laughed and tried to brush it off, and I felt my cheeks flame up a bit. The curse of having cheeks that blush easily.

Anyway, that's all that happened. It definitely induced several giggles and shy eye glances, but that's it. It was a small, random moment that made the work day more interesting though!

Hi Linda, your halo braid looks so pretty! Adroable daisy top, so well styled. Thats so cute about the J experience, interesting way of flirting he has. Looking forward to seeing the movie. Thanks for lending me your opinion on my last post. Happy End of the Week!

Oh, Linda. Getting all the men I see (: Hahaha, I certainly don't blame them! What a gorgeous hairstyle. I agree--I like experimenting every now and then too.

Glad to hear you liked the movie! I really need to head to the theater soon. The last time I went was when the Hunger Games came out haha!

Dang, girl. You've been cranking out some of my favorite looks of yours. I've been keeping up with your posts but haven't had the time to comment! I absolutely loved your edgy-tribal look with those cool kicks a couple posts ago. The color scheme was perf. And your hair looked great then too! It was cool to see Corina's simply stylish look too! She's too cute. I absolutely adore this daisy top and your cute boots. And you know how I feel about fringe (: The photos are stunning as well. Keep rocking it, girl!

Uhh love your hair! I found a similar hairstyle on Cupcakes and Cashmere which I love doing!
And hmmm I was considering seeing Mortal Instruments because I read the first book over the summer. But I'm a little sad because Jace does not look the way I imagined him to be. And being the awful person I am, I know that'll ruin the movie for me. I mean... Jace HAS to be HOT!;)
Anyway, you look lovely... great deals in your outfit:)

I fully understand why the compliments increase when the hair goes up. Not only is it a very cool style, it also better shows off that lovely face and those amazing, deep, wonderful eyes. A big "yes" vote to shot #2 for being loaded with many kinds of wow-ness :)

I love what you have done with your hair here and I would totally try it too but I'm pretty sure my hair is too heavy for it. which means it will be painful to spend a whole day like that :P but maybe I should still try and see what happens!
anyway, your outfit is beautiful and I love the overall vibe of it. it reminds me of autumn in a very good way. oh and that necklace is super cool!

GIRL you are such a catch. You always have guys flirtin' up storms with you. ;) I don't blame them, though, you're so cute and have such a charming little personality! I seriously do love those braids, though. You should not feel self-conscious about them! They're so cute. "Cool hair" is definitely one good way to put it, as this mysterious J guy did, haha!

I feel like this look encompasses you so well. It's so bohemian, super chic, super cute, super you, Miss Linda! And this is actually the first time I have ever noticed your cute little freckles under your eyes. Um, those are so adorable?! I wish I had cool freckle marks. They give you this sexy, mysterious kind of beauty. Not to creep you out or anything, but they do. Hehe!

I adooooore those earrings, too. HAVE A LOVELY FRIDAY MY SWEET DOLL! <3
