This daisy print tank is one of the under $3 finds from Rue 21. I forgot to get a detail shot of the back, because there's a sweet cut out detail. Ah well, next time. Anyway, I wore this to go see The Mortal Instruments with Corina - which was SO good! I'm probably not the best movie critique, but this movie is right up my alley - demons, angels, underworlders, and magic! I loved the book series, but since it's been a while since I read them, I'm not as offended by any missing scenes. Ha, of course, if I re-read the series (which I plan on doing now) that may change. For now though, I enjoyed the movie. At first, when I saw who was playing Jace, I wrinkled my nose and thought: Him!? But he's...he...he looks like some tiny, twig-like musician, not a warrior!
By the end of the movie, I was completely won over. Jamie Bower sold his performance of Jace, the arrogant, self-centered, yet vulnerable and loveable Shadowhunter. Plus, Lily Collins was decent, and the chemistry between the two was believable. The humor in the movie had Corina and I cracking up, and it's a good thing the theater was mostly empty.
I don't always pin my hair up like this, but when I do, it turns into compliment central. For a day of work, the waitresses always squeal how they love my hair like this and that it's so cute. One cook looked at my head in bewilderment and just asked, "How did you do that?"
Hahaha! It's actually really easy, I just feel self conscious when I put it up in these milkmaid braids. But hey, sometimes a girl likes to experiment.
So at work, I had a random moment happen. It was the day I'd put my hair up in milkmaid braids too, keep in mind. A guy comes up to my register to ask for cash back. Since I've just watched the Mortal Instruments movie and he somewhat resembles Jace, let's call him J.
J smiled and said my name in a friendly way as I helped him out, which always slightly startles me until I remember, Oh yeah, I'm wearing a name tag.
"I like your necklace," he said.
"I like your shirt. Isn't that the Boy London line?"
"Yeah, I had to order it online to get it here. You've been to Europe?"
"Oh no, I wish!"
Anyway, his friend comes up, and J turns to him and says, "Yeah, this is the girl I told you about."
"Um, what?" I asked.
His friend turned to me. "Will you turn around?"
J laughed and explained, "I told him you have really cool hair."
Then a nearby waitress who'd heard part of our conversation came over and loudly told me, "I think he's flirting with you!"
The boys awkwardly laughed and tried to brush it off, and I felt my cheeks flame up a bit. The curse of having cheeks that blush easily.
Anyway, that's all that happened. It definitely induced several giggles and shy eye glances, but that's it. It was a small, random moment that made the work day more interesting though!
