The Colors of Fall

Tank, Skirt, Boots, & Bag: thrifted   Vest: Forever 21
Sorry about the rumpled hair, I was in a rush trying to get these photos done before dashing off on my next errand. Then I had an 8 hour shift at work, so I was rather hurried. However, I'm so glad I made it out to my favorite brick wall to get these outfit pictures taken. I reverted back to my tripod ways to snap these, and they thankfully turned out.

I love this outfit so much! It incorporates fall colors so perfectly, and I loved mixing my pumpkin orange vest with my maroon bag. What's even better about this outfit is that it's another almost-completely thrifted look! I can't believe what you can find if you're patient enough. These boots are practically new and originally from American Eagle!

So this school year is really going to be a challenge to tackle, and I've started to wonder if I've bit off more than I can chew. When people hear how many credits I'm taking, that I'm on Senate, and that I have work on weekends, most just gape and ask, "Why!?"
Usually I'll chuckle and say, "I'm not sure..."

But now that I've thought on it, I know why. I'm determined to graduate with my Visual Arts degree soon. I know that I've picked the right direction to go in, and next up will be deciding where I will continue my education. Should I focus on graphic design? Photography? I believe I'll discover this as I progress through my classes here.

Also, ever since high school, I started pushing myself to get out of my shell. I've spent too much of my life being the silent bookworm who just let life pass her by, too afraid to try anything new. By joining Senate, it provides the perfect opportunity for me to stretch myself and gain leadership experience as well.

My close friend Kirsten told me something over the weekend that warmed my heart and made me more determined than ever to reach my goals.
"I admire how you choose to do something and go for it. You pick a path and make it happen."

I don't want to be someone who starts something and quits. I want to finish strong.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

The biggest part of finishing strong is determination and since that's one of your values you're obviously on the right path. Although even if one changes their mind on the way that doesn't prevent them from finishing strong, right?:) Anyhow, I really like this outfit, babe, it suits you perfectly! And those earrings are frigging cool!!!

Okay, so I love the burnt orange color here and that pretty lace shirt of yours. You look like the first day of fall, Miss Linda!

I've been feeling a little blahhh about fall, but this post completely changed my perspective and brightened my mood. I can't wait now! Boots, pretty fall colors, pumpkin spice lattes...the list goes on:) You reminded me that I can totally mix in my pretty summer favorites (the crocheted top is gorgeous!) with pieces more suitable for fall (warm fall tones). Thanks for turning my frown upside down lady:) You are the best!

It is easy to see even from here you will stick to your plan, your goals, because you see the value in them and its where your heart is leading you and you have such a strong, beautiful heart and this is the longest run-on sentence ever :) OK, breath. As for your outfit, great colors, that lacy top is so sweet and love getting to see those lovely shoulders and amazing legs. Best shot is that giggly close-up featuring those stunning eyes. Sigh!

Stay strong and firm about your dream and desires. I understand perfectly about being the shy bookworm. All my highschool I was like that but now in college I'm trying to get out of the shell. I feel more confident about myself now.

Now to the outfit, you handle it perfect the fall colors. i wish I can feel the autumn but in my city stills is very summer :/

you have such a positive attitude towards things and that will help you so much in moving forward. I can relate to you so much...I'm such an introvert and shy type that I let a lot of things pass me by before. I still do a lot of times but I am somewhat better. Good for you for recognizing what you need to do to "move on up!" =D

Linda, why are you so cool? Dude, you are such an awesome chick, I'd have to agree with what your friend said, you pick a path and you stay on it and it's really admirable. (Plus, you always look really cool while doing so.) I really love everything about this outfit, the colors are so pretty together! I think I might have to steal some inspiration from you, I have some similar items in my closet and I love the lace with the skirt!
