Frances Photography: Country Home Living

Hey girls, so these are the photos from that excursion to the county home I told you about last outfit post. Isn't it absolutely charming and lovely? It was a soothing place to visit.

I just want to follow up on that last, heavy post and say an enormous thank you to all who left such thoughtful comments. The advise and encrouagement definitely lightened the load on my heart. Some of them made me laugh, some made me nod in agreement, and others helped give me clarity of the situation. I hope our friendship will mend. It may not be the same as before, but if we can overcome this bump in the road, I know it'll be one that lasts for a long time.

She's off in another city for a dance camp until next weekend, which is when we will hopefully meet up to discuss in person what's to happen. I just hope it will go well and we can both clearly state our points so that we can come to an understanding.

Until then, Corina and I have been enjoying making our new place feel like home. Its quite marvelous what a new environment can do for you! Its not such a dreaded walk to go back to our apartment anymore. Rather, its one filled with eagerness, knowing this new place only yields potential. We've cleaned it up nicely, vaccumed all the floors, and are slowly adding in the necessary furniture. We found a cute, circular table at the thrift store, now all we need are some chairs to go with it, a couch for the living room, and a TV + dvd player. Other than that, when dad came back to visit and drop off my microwave, he said that, "You girls are doing one heck of a job! It looks good in here."

I'll definitely be tracking our progress with photos, and once we're completely settled in (which is going to take a while, let me tell you), I'll make a "Before and After" type of post. However, last night, as we sat in our spacious living room and looked around at the bare walls, we smiled at each other and said at the same time, "This place is going to look awesome once we're done with it."

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Oh wow, you're planning on meeting her--that's really a brave thing for you to do especially after some of those comments she made about you. I'm wishin' you luck, Miss Linda! I hope you'll be able to iron out some things and hopefully get her to see from your perspective, etc. You seem like someone who can keep her cool in pretty much every situation... yet another fine quality in you that I admire and love. :)

On the upside, these pics are rad! I seriously love the front of that house. What a neat entrance! And the pictures of you on the rug are way too cool. Coolest facebook profile pictures EVA

I think you captured the spirit of the home so well with great angle/subject choices. But, really dear, if you want me to remember lovely pics of around the house, that shot of you on the floor is not the way to go :) Kind of got ALL my attention. Now I need to go see what post you are talking about as I do not recall it. Tougher to keep up since name change for some reason but I promise to always do my best.

What a lovely little place to escape to for a few days! Take me with you next time? ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your previous living situation. It's always difficult to confront someone when they live with you and you see them every single day, and sometimes people that make great friends don't make great roommates. But lesson learned and hopefully all of you will talk things through and move on from a shitty situation. But in the meantime, enjoy your new apartment! Can't wait to see what you and your roommate do with it! :)

Hi Linda, you are truly talented behind the camera! I am happy to hear that you have settled into your new place with ease, Im certain it will be much less stressed. Hope that things can be sorted out with your friend, if not, don't be disheartened, in due time it will.

I saw your comment last night and then came to comment but was really sleepy at the moment. However, I did read your posts and many of the comments while in bed. So now I am prepared to say:

Roommates that are messy are messy knowing someone else will clean up after them. You, my sweet, were no longer going to be an enabler of her bad behavior. Perhaps you could have said a bit more about moving. But, I would not feel a bit guilty if I were in your situation.

When I was in college I managed a 12 unit apartment building so my rent would be free. I did it for my last two full years of college. I had TONS of messes to clean up. Those that were messy didn't give a Rats A-- if they left a mess behind. I would have to clean there apt and the owner bonus-ed me and kept their deposit. I saw a TON of messes but they were usually from the richest kids that had maids at their parent's home's.

You are fine. Get those words out of your head. She was just dumping guilt on you for not sticking around to further be her maid.

Those that are clean, responsible and nice (YOU) are the better ones in society and don't you forget it!

(hug) oh, and thank you for your fun compliments to me, too!

Oh and I forgot to mention there were 6 girls per apartment! 72 gals only, they didn't do co-ed then.

and...

about 10% were the messy dorks.

Head up and feel good, you are a great person!
