All Knotted Up

Tank: vintage   Jacket: (thrifted) Gap   Skirt: (thrifted) Forever 21   Sandals: (thrifted) O'Neill   Bag: (thrifted) Aldo   Silver-Gold Bracelet: c/o 2 Hello Beautiful

I never thought I'd be into anything high waisted, but this skirt is an exception. I tied up my tank top so I still got to show off my studded belt, and I think it added more personality. And seriously, I didn't realize until I started putting the outfit details that this entire look is thrifted. Except for the jewelry, I discovered each piece at my favorite thrift store!

These photos were actually taken a while ago though, and I'll tell you why I can't find time to get photos.
I officially made it through my first week back to college.
All I want to do right now is sleep, and then sleep some more. Preferably with the TV on playing Once Upon A Time reruns so I can doze off to Prince Charming's face.

Yeah, so this semester is going to be busy. However, I couldn't be more excited about what I'll be doing in my classes! I feel like I've gotten a good bunch of teachers too. First up, my Design and Drawing instructor. She's originally from Serbia, and she has the sweetest European accent. Plus, she's such a fashionista! Haha, its odd for me to observe that in a teacher, but I guess when you pay attention to art, it can translate to your wardrobe. Sitting in her class spending all that time returning to what I used to do (which was draw for hours) is really soothing. I've forgotten how much I enjoyed that. I'm just glad I'm being reminded! Its like therapy to be honest.

Next up, Darkroom Photography. Now let me just say, I was expecting my previous teacher from Digital, which was a woman. However, they'd done some switching around, and instead I now have the guy teacher - Ben. All I can say is "Wooooow." He is some serious eye candy. Like, really. I'm basically being taught by Jake Gyllenhall. Is it bad if I checked his hand for a wedding ring? (*ducks head in shame*)
And good looks and muscular arms aside, he actually is a phenomenal teacher. You know the teachers you can just tell are so involved in teaching their students everything they know? That's him. He's really passionate about photography and how it can tell a story. Not to mention, he has a fun personality so we're all usually laughing at the jokes being cracked. I definitely love having a class with such a laid back atmosphere.

There's also Ceramics, which I've already decided I suck at. But you know what? I don't care! I'm basically getting to relive my childhood of messing around with play-dough for two hours. And as long as you put in effort, you're not graded on how amazing your pot looks. Thank goodness too...because in my efforts to make a strawberry-esque pot, I ended up making something that looks like it has a bad case of warts.

Finally, Art History is with a rather witty, older gentleman. He seriously had us busting up laughing at the way he described Thomas Kinkade yesterday. Let's just say it was not in a flattering manner. If all his lectures are like this, I don't think it will be a problem trying to pay attention.

Finally, to top off this hectic schedule, I'm taking not one, not two, not three, but four PE classes. Spinning, Zumba, Pilates, Pilates/Yoga should tone me up by the end of the semester...right? I don't know what possessed me to add so much, but let's just say I was inspired to really try and kick my butt into shape!

So that's a quick summary of the classes I'm taking and what I'll be doing. If I appear less frequently on the blogosphere, you know why! I do hope to get more photos prepared for the next one though.
Also, thanks so much for the positive response on the new series, Roommate Remix! Corina definitely appreciates it too. :)

We'll be sure to have more next week!

I am SO jealous of your classes!! Zumba and ceramics?! You have got to be joking. Seriously though, I took darkroom photography for two years in high school and I got so hooked! I'm moving into my dorm tomorrow and I'll spend the first week of orientation interviewing my potential professors to see which classes sound like the right fit for me! So far I've signed up for a super intense dance course, and I'm looking into darkroom photography (so we can bond over that!) and French! Love your outfit, dear!

Hahahhaa, oooooh, got a teacher crush going on, Linda? I can relate more than I'd like to admit... I feel like I'm always ending up with the attractive teachers, or at least the ones with the most enticing personalities. Anyway, that's one kind of motivation to get you started in Darkroom Photography. You're gonna rock that class!!~ I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Also ugh, I feel you on the busy busy thing. Don't even worry about it. Sometimes even making a Facebook status felt like a burden just these past two weeks for me.

Okay, now onto your DARLING outfit! I love how you kept everything pretty neutral then added that exciting pop of red from your purse. I also really dig your bracelets.

Have a rad collegetime, Linda!

I love how you went ahead and knotted the top even though there was already a high-lo hemline going on. Most people would want to "balance" it but I really like the way you styled the two pieces. It looks balanced to me! Also, that red bag is perfect with that skirt :)
Man, I totally feel you on the busy schedule this semester. My classes start tomorrow and I am in no way ready to face the storm.
