Tan Lines

Tank: Forever 21   Bandeau: PacSun   Skirt: thrifted   Sandals: Target   Necklace: c/o Too Sexy Store  Bag: Rue 21

These were taken after I spent two hours out in the sun during the hottest part of the afternoon. Needless to say, I forgot about my back while applying sunscreen, and apparently my arms as well. Usually my skin is so resistant to the sun's rays that I don't need to. However, I think the blazing heat penetrated that defense, and now I finally have tan lines! Something about having them makes me feel like summer has arrived. Nothing like having those odd lines drawn on your skin to prove you've been out enjoying the heat.

This tank top is a recent purchase that I got while on my trip to Boise, and I absolutely love it! It's my go-to top for the past week, and I'm enjoying the fun dip in the back and perfect, slouchy fit. Although I think the dip may be a little too exciting with my bandea top worn underneath. One night at work, I quickly changed into this before I left since I had to go run some errands and didn't want to do that in my unflattering uniform. As I left out the front door, several of the cooks uncharacteristically hollered out:
"Bye Linda!"
"See you girl!"

Uh huh. As I looked back questioningly at them and waved, I noticed at least three of them paused, just watching me leave. They never batted an eye before when I scurried out the door in my oversized button down and apron. Slip on a slouchy tank that shows off your back, and then they all stop and watch you go!

Men. They'll never change.
Although I'm curious to see what would happen if I wore this to class...hehe. I think I'll pair it with skinny jeans to keep it from being too over-the-top.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

What a perfect look for your first post with your new blog name! I'm totally loving the new layout, girl!

I laughed when I read that part about your coworkers--I definitely agree. Men can be quite strange sometimes! And I feel you on the tanlines--because I run year-round, I have a perpetual shorts tan and sock tan...super sexy, you know haha.

But no wonder those guys had to stop and say bye to you! I really love that pleated skirt and your patterned bandeau. I saw those wedges at Target and I have to say they look perfect with your cute bag. And we can't forget that spiky necklace for your signature edgy look!

Have a beautiful week, Linda!

Yes, indeed, that back would gain attention. So lovely. Open-back garments are inherently hot. Sorry about your sunburn but glad you are applying your usual positive spin to it. Great outfit, that skirt is such a cool color and shows off so well those beautiful legs. And I like that wood-looking bracelet and the pretty bag.

Haha! That is too funny, it is always a change to see your coworkers in 'life clothes' instead of 'work clothes'. I love the summer layering here so much, that bandeau underneath is the perfect little patterned touch! LOVE your sandals too :)
