Quartz Crystal and Seafan Hearts

Dress: Sugarlips   Scarf: c/o Snoozer Loser   Belt: Rue 21   Necklace: c/o Lylif   Sandals: c/o My Hot Shoes

This scarf arrived from Snoozer Loser, and I am in love with it guys. In love. However, the sticky summer heat is doing its best to break us up, but I defiantly refused to be kept away. Instead, I paired my love with a light summer dress and used it as a shrug instead of keeping it wrapped around my neck (something that's unthinkable with 100 degree heat).

I actually really love where this outfit ended up at too. I added the tribal belt just to experiment, and some coral sandals to match. I think they blended together for a fun, girly look.

You know, since moving out, I've done some growing up. Before, I was used to relying on my parents to keep things clean and provide a steady diet of healthy foods. Now that I'm on my own, I have since discovered it is a necessary thing to learn how to cook (not just bake sugary treats - sigh) and pick up after myself. In fact, my roommates probably like to joke around about how OCD I am in comparison to them. What can I say, dad's dormant, family gene of cleanliness was passed on to me after all.

I don't mind cleaning dishes and taking out trash every now and then, but when its multipe times every day? I left to visit my folks back at home for two days, and when I popped back into the apartment to drop some stuff off, I saw the same stack of dishes in the sink with an added pile on top of it from the last time I was there. I was a bit disgruntled (especially since I'd talked to Saff about how she shouldn't rely on me to do it all the time), but then I spotted the note taped to the side of the counter.

"Linda - Don't do the dishes! I got dem :)"

That girl can sure put off household chores for as long as she can! But hey, at least I'm getting her to do them every now and then.

So on another uplifting note, Corina's boyfriend set up the bunk bed for us! Now we just have to find a mattress for her...haha. I must admit, I really like those two. I'm friends with both, so hanging out with them doesn't make me feel too much like a third wheel. They invited me to go see Man of Steel with them, and Tuyen (her boyfriend) paid for all of us. Um, this broke college girl won't turn down a free movie, especially when it was as epic as Man of Steel was! I swear I stopped breathing at certain points in the movie. I loved it!

What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

Linda, I love that dress and scarf together! they look so whimsical, light and pretty! Awesome on you. HaHaHa about the dishes. Yeah, when you're living with others they don't always do things the same way but I liked her note. That was sweet of him to treat you guys. I keep hearing it was a good movie. I haven't seen it. The last movie I saw was The Great Gatsby! I think I'm due for another movie soon :)

LOOOOVE how you styled that scarf and it's so convenient that I have the same one so I can try and recreate this look ;) I am opposite of you when it comes to cleanliness..I really WANT to have everything in my room clean and nice looking but my laziness trumps my desire to have it clean :)

The last movie I saw in theaters....hmmm...Great Gatsby with my boyfriend! :)

Renae Simple Sequins said...

hmmmmm, that movie in the theater was ...How to Train Your Dragon? ...I think, not sure. My HM doesn't do movies. They all bore him. I am a movie-a-holic in some genres. So when we met we saw "Sixth Sense". Ya that long ago. Dang, I do want to see Superman and The Lone Ranger. I love Johnny Depp! (dead-pan yet charismatic) I hit the Savers Sale and I am so tired, but i spent my $50 budget very wisely! Details to follow in this weeks post! Love ya, Renae

Oh, I absolutely LOVE this scarf! It is so, so beautiful and I cannot believe you found a little flower to match! That's just perfect. I always want to wear scarves even in the summer too. Why does it have to get so hot outside?
And, ugh-I used to feel that way with roommates too-how can you leave the dishes that long?! haha. Oh well, we all have different standards I guess.

Last movie I saw was World War Z. Brad Pitt is too sexy not to see it, haha. I recommend it. Plus I'm also into zombies. Before that I watched This is the End. I highly recommend it if you're in need of some laughter. Or some James Franco. Either one (notice a common theme in my movie selections here?). Lol.

The scarf is adorable and you look like a carefree hippie spring goddess! Hehe. :)

I love to wash dishes, it's somekind of meditation to me. There are good sides in everything we do:) by the way, I caught myself thinking that I haven't been at movie for ages, I'm not a huge fan of such things. So sorry, I can't advice you anything.
As for the otfit, I guess it's the most romantic look of you. Such a pretty, light dress and scarf is really flawless. Nice post, well done!
Have a great time!

Best wishes, Alexandra

I am loving the scarf too, its an elegant addition to your feminine outfit, the belt works so well. Its really strange how fast we grow up when we move out of our parents homes and we get to learn so much about our capabilities, you sound like you got in all under great control! I really want to see Henry Cavill in that movie! Thanks for your wonderful words over at mine, hope your week kindly surprises you :)

I love the scarf! Anything with a crystal print on it grabs my attention straight away.

I know how you feel about the sharing of chores. The last two housemates I lived with were so messy and always seemed to have a towering pile of dishes. I tried so hard not to cave and do it for them but I always gave in cause I just couldn't stand having the mess there. And theres no dishes left for yourself to use!

Oh geez, yet again the words you have written in a post have rung true with me... I am SUCH an OCD freak, and always the one who ended up taking out the trash and cleaning the dishes. I'd leave for the weekend, and yep, just as you said, come back and the trash hadn't moved, the dishes were the same with the addition of a few. Maybe some kind of bacteria festering in the sink, too? Yep.

We'd be rad roomaates who would clean our own shit up. I'm sure you know that by now, though... ;)

Okay so this outfit is so lovely, Linda! I love love that scarf, and I love the crystal pattern on it (I've always had a penchant for crystals! *__*) and I've gotta say that purple flower is such a perfect, dainty little prop. Sometimes, the littlest things make the biggest of differences in an outfit post.

Keep on bein' a lavender cutie!! :D

Can't believe you found such a wonderfully matched flower to go with the scarf! That's such a cool photograph. And I love the idea of adding a scarf to a dress like that - it ups the anti and really gives the whole outfit an added bit of interest.

What a beautiful field too - fantastic.

What a great mix of pieces to make a style symphony. Fun belt and necklace, really like the sheet part at the bottom of the hem (and always happy to see those cute legs too :D) and the fun sandals. That closer-in shot with you smelling the flower? Wow!!!!! You could never get too close in on those amazing eyes of yours. Lovely!

That dress is super gorgeous! The flowy cut, the material... so romantic and such a sweet pairing for that scarf. Ugh, dirty housemates were never fun and the last movie I saw in theatres were World War Z (which was was supremely excellent, by the way)!

Lily said...

Glad your roommate's helping out! And oooh, I've heard good things about Man of Steel. I don't go to the theater often, so the last movie I saw was the Hunger Games haha.

But you look aboslutely lovely in this girly look. The flower in your hair is such a pretty touch to your pretty wavy hair. I can definitely see why you're in love with that scarf! It's so cute--I love the lavender! And of course that edgy necklace is perfect.

Aww, thanks for your lovely words on my blog too. Hehe I doubt I say things more eloquently! You and Ali have always been huge inspirations for me to write more what I'm feeling rather than just outfit details, so I'd like to say thank you! I can relate to so many of your posts and I also feel like sometimes we think the same things haha. Great minds think alike, I suppose (;

Keep being just lovely, Linda!

I can relate on the dirty housemates, why I like living alone :)

And your scarf is actually super gorgeous. I love your entire ensemble, actually. Evokes that perfect summer feeling!
