Sweet Spikes Of Mine

Dress: Pacsun   Shrug: c/o August Wrinkle   Belt: Pacsun   Wedges: c/o My Hot Shoes   Bracelet: c/o RMS   Earrings: Vanity
Oopsy. Anyone else have those bra strap slips?

Even when I try to go girly, I immediately lean towards spikes as my accessories. It provides an interesting mix, that's for sure. Speaking of interesting, print mixing is one of the most fun ways to spice up a look. I'm telling you, florals go with just about anything. That and stripes. If you want to get in on the print mixed look, refer to my past Print Mixing series here, here, and here.

So on Tuesday I had a day off from work. I met up with Micaela and we went thrifting for new stuff to put in the apartment! I think my OCD cleansing stage must've woken them up to the possibilities of decorating and making the place look extra nice. Haha, we rearranged the living room and its much more open and spacious. And now we've got some wall art we need to hang up, along with a brand new (thrifted) coffee table. We're pretty excited! Its shaping up to be a real cute space. I especially love our kitchen now. Haha, check out what's hanging above our stove:
Isn't it great? It makes me giggle everytime I see it.

The issue at hand is trying to hang up everything without going over our limit of 4 holes per room. Yeah, that's the landlord's rule. Ugh. Any suggestions for what works best?

Love the contrast of florals and spikes here! And I think there's some really good putty like solutions that you can use to hang on your wall without leaving holes. I think 3m makes them?? xx Kat

haha! what an inspiration to cook! i'll take a salad! lol that polka dot dress looks so good on you linda. love the floral with it and spikes. it all works! glad everything is going well. either office max or office depot has a products that will adhesive to the wall without putting a hole in it. they're like hooks. don't know the proper name but think a company 3D makes them.

love the shoes in your outfit! And I put up a lot of my pictures with that double sided tape stuff... and I also looked around for cute wall decals as alternatives to wall art that would need to be put up with nails.

That dress is AMAZING. I'm such a sucker for polka dots.

Hmm, for hanging things up? If it is hook, use those Command things? I'm sure that there are no damage things around somewhere.

Use Hercules hooks for things that might need a nail to hang on, or special putty for hanging up posters! That poster is precious (isn't that the guy from the commercials?). Also, love LOVE this outfit, Linda! Florals with polka-dots is one of my favorite combinations! And the colors are so pretty.

i really love how you incorporated the spikes and to this feminine and sweet outfit.. U look so damn cool =)

Yikes, only four holes per room? that's a little difficult! I don't think it works great for big, heavy items but for small pictures and posters, there's a sticky wall tape you can hang stuff up with and when you're done, it comes right off with no residue.

I really love this shrug on you, it is so very "you!" (I have a soft jacket similar to this one and when I found it, my first thought was "oooh, this is so Linda!") The colors are so soft and water-color looking and as always, spikes make everything better. :)
