Coffee Shop Cozy

Tank: c/o Electric Frenchie   Cardigan: thrifted   Jeans: Target   Boots: c/o My Hot Shoes   Bag: c/o August Wrinkle

When we had a random gathering of clouds and sporratic thunderstorms, I used it as the perfect excuse to go back to my layers. In all honesty, it gets tough to come up with creative outfits when you can't layer comfortably. However, a light knit shrug, some floral jeans, and combat boots were the perfect combination for a day of errands and staying comfortable while dodging the occasional sprinkles of rain.

Lately, I've taken to stopping into Barnes & Noble a lot to just relax, sip on a drink, read magazines, and people watch. I'll set up my laptop with the charger plugged in and glance up over the screen to see the different kinds of people that come in. It's rather interesting, and on days when I've got nothing else to do, it's a nice little routine.

Apparently, I've been noticed though. One of the guys who works at the adjoined Starbucks was wiping down tables and putting away magazines when he approached me.
"Weren't you here yesterday?"
I glanced up, a bit startled. Then I sheepishly answered yes.
"Ah, okay. I knew I recognized you. How's your day going?"

So we small chatted a bit, and he left after that. Still, I guess I've become a regular face around the store now. Next thing is to pick up an application, right? Haha, that would be my top pick of places to work right now actually! So maybe next time I stop in I'll ask...

Has anyone worked at a Barnes & Noble or knows someone who does? Any tips?

I thought you were going to say this is an archive photo shoot. I would be too warm in those long pants and boots, now days. I have found I love skirts these days. I feel like June Cleaver at times, hahahahahaha.

Thanks for liking my hair! It is definitely more fun, that is for sure.

This has to be one of my favorite outfits of yours. Mint is the way to my heart, and I totally love that cute studded top! Then paired with floral pants? Totally genius! The combat shoes and earrings make it one of your signature sweet meets fierce looks. Keep being so stylish, Linda!

Bahaha, people watching. Don't we all love it? There's somemthing so relaxing about working in a bookstore. I don't blame you! Good luck if you end up applying!

I love your pants although pants from Target always seem a little too thin for my liking. What do you think about them?
And I love B&N to do exactly what you do! And of course, their completely unhealthy and delicious Strawberries and Crème frappe! I totally recommend it:)

Heheh I love people watching too. I don't even mean to sound creepy, cause as an anthropology major, I can say it's a sound way to observe social interactions and learn about cultural spheres :D. My friend worked at B&N last year, I don't think the application/ interview was particularly selective. In fact, I think it was her first time working in retail! Good luck if you decide to apply :)

I love sitting in Barnes & Nobles! I love their cafe, browsing for books and music. It seems so stress free! I say definitely inquire about a position and way your options (money and days/time you can work, hours). There's nothing wrong with looking into it. He sounds awesome! You never know who you'll meet there. LOVE this outfit Linda! Fabulous top, printed pants and bag! Looks great on you.

Bahaha, I love that you go places and sit down and mark your territory, Linda! I do the same thing... and yeah, people are gonna notice you. But that's good! I think it's really good to know people. At least they are friendly and don't mind you being there. :D Gosh, we would be such good friend IRL... I know I say that so much but I love just going to a place and chilling on my laptop or reading. Imagine!

Okay, to your outfit, now! I've gotta say the colors in it are just gorgeoussimo! Mint and white and pale floral? Oh yes. You are a walking classy lady, but then you keep it you with those combat boots. I don't know how you do it... :)!
