Leather Leggings and Gold Plated Shoes

Top & Leggings: thrifted   Cardigan: c/o Indressme   Wedges: c/o My Hot Shoes   Necklace: The Phrenzy   Watch: c/o Feral Watches

I'll admit, I was hesitant about pairing these leather tuxedo bottoms with these bold, gold-plated wedges. However, I feel like they go best together, and with a modest top and cardigan, it's not too overboard, right?
Right. That's what I'm sticking with anyway! It was too rocker-chick-awesome not to put together!

Are these wedges not amazing or what? They're another fabulous pair from My Hot Shoes, and the gold plated ankle straps were what sold me. So bold! I was expecting to feel a little extra teetery in these since they're taller than my other shoes, but was surprised to find they're the same as my other wedges. A good platform really makes all the difference.

Also, notice my new watch? I'm obsessed with the classic look and fun wrap style that Feral Watches offer! I almost went for this same watch (The Jane) in brown, but knew that my blogger friend Marsa already had it. So I wanted to be different and chose this black one. It hasn't left my wrist since it arrived! I don't know how I've gone without a watch all this time. Its a classier way to tell time to just glance down at this arm candy rather than pull out your phone.

I couldn't believe it started snowing/raining/hailing in the middle of this shoot though. Seriously Idaho? The bipolar cracks we've made about your weather were just jokes! You didn't have to take us seriously! Ah well, we stuck it out, and we got the shots we wanted at least.
So there was a moment between the senators where we were joking around about how if this guy wanted, he could have my friend and I's extra pounds (he's on the small side). He just shook his head in disbelief at us, and said, "Why are you girls so unhappy with yourselves?"
Saff: "Because we're girls."
Me: "We tend to be a little critical."
He looked perplexed.
"Well I think you both are doing great the way you are, I'm just saying."
It reminded me once again of how our self perceptions are always the most critical. That comment has stuck in the back of my mind, and I'm trying not to think derogatory thoughts about my body. Gotta keep fighting this body image monster!

I stayed over at my friend's place and it was a much needed girl's night. I met Saffy's new roommate, who's an absolute sweetheart, and we all stayed up giggling and quoting along with Pitch Perfect. It's good I'm able to get along with both of them - because there's been talk of me moving in with these girls for the next semester! After all, I am already going to school and working in the city after all, and these late night drives back home are grating on my nerves. 40 miles a day just to go back and forth?

I know that I'd probably end up saving more money if I just stayed with my parents, but the convenience of living right nearby everything/everywhere I need to go is just too great! Also, I think I need this experience of being more independent. Its on my New Year's Resolutions list after all! For now, I'm planning on saving my money and possibly moving out in the summer. Who knows what will happen, but I'm excited for what comes next!

PS: Don't forget to enter the My Hot Shoes Giveaway going on! You could win a pair of wedges like in today's post :)

It's so nice to be unexpectedly complimented like that. I think a lot of times we joke about our bodies because we think people will perceive us to be arrogant if we have a high self-esteem.
I love the print of your top mixed with the print on the cardigan! They're so different so it's a great juxtaposition. Those wedges sure are a statement! I can see you getting a lot of wear out of them for the spring and summer, they are great.
And I KNOW THIS WEATHER. It's sleet/hailing here too! Make. it. stop. haha

You look amazing. Those shoes are stunning and I have always loved leather leggings. I think moving would be great for you. Moving out when I started college really taught me how to be independent and responsible.

You sure know how to create a look. What a slick, glam pairing of the leather and your golden gladiatrix shoes. And then you toss on that cardigan to keep the edges from being too rough. Oh, and the cute purple toenail polish too. It is a tough blend to pull of an you do it brilliantly here. Also, really like that necklace. You are just so lovely!

Wow, I cannot believe that it's trying to snow down there, that's just crazy. I do like the contrast between the wedges on the snowflakes though, way to tell that weather who's boss! And speaking of those wedges, those are SO. FIERCE. The gold straps are so bold and they really fit so perfectly with the leather leggings. Like you said, very rocker chick chic. :)
