Cobalt Blue

Top: c/o August Wrinkle   Blazer: thrifted   Jeggings: American Eagle   Boots: c/o My Hot Shoes    Watch: c/o Feral Watches   Ring: c/o Too Sexy Store

Only in Idaho would you experience rain, snow, sleet, wind, and sun all within an hour's time.
So if you spot white stuff in my hair it's not dandruff, it's snow.
I was just too happy with this outfit not to get photos of it - plus, the peek-a-boo sun provided some great lighting. The matching cobalt blue was so perfect in this outfit! When I spotted the blazer in the thrift store, I could immediately envision it with several outfits (after I'd mentally cut out the shoulder pads of course). It matches so perfectly with my boots from My Hot Shoes - I think I need to try this matchy-matchy business more often. I'm trying to thrift more classy pieces now that I'm on Senate. Casual business attire is required.

I grabbed some food with my friend at a local restaurant after our Senate meeting, and while munching on our sweet potato fries, venting about boys, I felt so content. Haha, its funny, but its as if I've finally come to a point where I'm content with things the way they are. I had a rebound crush after my breakup with P, and while it was fun, it was frustrating since it led absolutely nowhere. So lately, I've completely given up on it. And when I say completely, I mean completely. He still sits next to me in classes and we small chat - but I'm no longer stressing over what to talk about or entertaining thoughts about slipping in a flirty comment. Instead, I leave when I feel like it and don't pause or wait around to walk with him afterwards. Its freeing. So while I'm back to square one, this time, I'm feeling more confident and satisfied about it. This time, I'm not just telling myself those words - I believe it.

So tomorrow I'm going to see The Croods with Saffy since college students get in for free - I've heard its a surprisingly good cartoon and I'm looking forward to a carefree night. This semester is coming to an end, but besides a major paper I need to write, I feel like I've stayed on top of things. So now I'm just ready for summer to start! Its time for bare legs, hot sun, days by the lake, and new experiences!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Romans 15:13

That blazer is amazing!! I love what cutting some shoulder pads out of a garment can do to it-it makes a world of difference. I would have thought that was a modern piece! I really need to check out this shoe website you're promoting too-those boots are wonderful! The color is fantastic and it goes perfectly well with your edgy side. Love your braids too, what a lovely style!

Grand super outfit Linda! I love that color of blue. I think I really love ALL shades of blue; tiffany box blue, turquoise blue, navy blue and cobalt, too! I also love all shades of almost any other color, too. I have been noticing how many colors I am wearing lately and DO BELIEVE I have gotten out of my NEUTRAL PHASE for GOOD!!! hahahahaha. Good to hear about your perspective on your life choices and the future your new attitude holds. I love that you share fashion and passion on your posts.

Cobalt is the PERFECT color on you! Love how you styled this blazer and love the matchy matchy business. You look stunning, Linda!!!

I went to school at Washington State University, which is just 10 minutes or so from the Idaho border and University of Idaho. The weather this time of year is so ridiculous. It was a common WSU saying..."If you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes." Layering was a must!

It's good to hear that you're finally getting back to normalcy and not stressing about the past.. I tend to overthink things and realized that I need to think more positively in order to be happy!

Anywayyyy, I thought it was funny that I just got a start sweater, and you are wearing a heart sweater in this post.. perhaps this is only amusing to me, but you look fabulous and I love the blue theme throughout this outfit!

Yup, the color is a perfect match both jacket and booties which is fabulous! Weather can be tricky even here in Dubai we've been getting rain this time of the year which is so surreal! I think the earth is 'menopausing', LOL!

Oooh, Linda, I love that cobalt blazer! You've always looked so nice in shades of blue. That blazer looks pretty comfy and I love the zipper details. You look dressed for Senate, but still retain your slightly edgy style. :) Love it@

And yay for moving on--I'm glad that you've been able to become your own person again and not have those little thoughts get into your head and stress you out. It sounds quite freeing indeed! :D

And second, good for you for being able to totally give up on your crush. Especially at your age. It's a major sign of maturity in my opinion. I'm almost double your age and I'm still not sure I could do it. Kudos to you. Really.

All that talk about long summer day, hot sun and playtime by the lake is making me seriously ready for summer. :P Eventually this weird spring/winter has to end. (Man, that is some crazy weather, all you needed was a tornado to top it off.)

I really, really love how striking the black and brilliant blue look together, it's such a powerful and confident look! Way to go on thrifting this blazer, it's amazing how taking out some 80s shoulder pads can just transform a jacket, this looks so stylish and effortlessly cool on you. And way to go! If CG cant figure it out, no point in wasting time on him. (Although it is always fun to have dude friends who are funny.) I think a lot of people do get caught up in finding "the right one!" and sometimes its nice just to step back and have fun not stressing about it. I know I've said it before but Linda, you are such a smart young lady!

Heh, here's hoping that summer comes soon. :) And have fun at the movies as well, I know my whole family is looking forward to the new Monsters INC movie that's coming out this summer.
