Sneaker Wedges

Tee: Debs   Jacket: thrifted   Jeans: American Eagle   Beanie: Rue 21   Sneaker Wedges: Go Jane   Necklace: The Phrenzy

I did it. I finally got some sneaker wedges!
After obsessing over this trend since last year, I asked myself why I was still waiting to get myself a pair. With no reasonable response for myself, I hopped onto Go Jane and started browsing. I landed on these babies, and I'm so incredibly satisfied with my choice. They are the perfect shoes to own for any casual-cool outfit!
Paired with a beanie and my favorite jacket, I felt comfortable and stylish while walking around campus. I've already worn these about five times since they arrived. They've replaced my Converse for comfy kicks!
And yes, the majority of the time, my earbuds are in and I'm listening to music while I cross campus.
Despite my anti-social appearance, I was somehow coerced into running for Sophomore Senate at my college. Don't ask. Campaigning is this week, and one of my friends is helping me make posters. We'll see how this goes, because if I actually get voted on, this could end up helping me out next year.
How do you like these photos? I had some time to kill before class, so I drove over to one of my old haunts for pictures and set up my tripod. I'm starting to get the hang of that thing, along with the self-timer! The only awkward part was when a bicyclist passed by and smiled questioningly at me.
"Good morning," I squeaked out, trying not to feel awkward about my monstrous camera that was hogging the trail we were sharing.

Yeah, after that, I moved to a quieter area, where the lighting was better anyway. That's why there's only one photo of me posing on a trail. Haha, I chickened out! But it worked out, since the pale brick building reflected light better and really brought focus into the pictures.
Anyway. I'm sure all of that photography talk totally fascinated you.
So here's a picture of my awkward face the timer captured right before the bicyclist passed me by.

Also, I feel like I am constantly saying thank you to you, my wonderful readers, but just know each time I say it, its just as genuine as it was the first time. Thank you for the wonderful response to the last post! I received some encouraging and wise words on what to do about CG. A lot of your advise helped me be more honest with myself, and I've decided that while I enjoy the attention (it was probably what I needed to help me move on), I don't want to seriously date him. By finally admitting that to myself I feel more carefree and less conflicted now! I'm open to a casual date or two, but that boy is going to have to decide if he wants that, because I'm the girl who will always live by her lolo's words:
"Don't chase the boys, let the boys chase you."

I've said it before, and its still true. No matter what my "status" is, I can find happiness. I'm surrounded by people who truly love me, and I don't need a relationship with a boy to feel complete. That will happen eventually, when its the right time.
For now, I'm just going with the flow and enjoying the ride!
Who knows what the rest of this semester will bring?

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Good for you, girly! There's nothing wrong with being single for a while. You're so beautiful and confident, you'll have no trouble catching the attention of someone who really does want to chase after you. ;)
Also, your wedges are freaking adorable!I'm not sure if it's a trend that would fit my everyday style, but it's certainly one that I want to make fit in!!
Despite my limited range of understanding in photographer speak, I totally see a difference in how the lighting affected the clarity. That's crazy! I do love the light effect of that one trail pic, though--very mysterious looking.
ONE more thing, thank you so much for your encouraging words on my blog! You are such a sweetheart!! Love you, girl!

These pictures are rad, Linda! Very editorial-ish, and I love the wall that's behind you--such awesome textures and bricks (so much neater than that old trail, right?! haha). :D Your photography is just always so awesome. Work that camera!

Oooh, running for the Senate, eh? Well, I wish you luck! We had our campus elections today, actually. I would totally vote for you. Campaign ON!

I totally endorse the "girls should be chased not do the chasing mentality" because I think if you find yourself chasing a guy they are likely not to be as interested as you may want them to be.
On another topic, you have really swayed my opinion on sneaker wedges. You just make them look so chic and fitting for a casual outfit, so kudos to you girl. I think i'm going to have to find me a pair :) x

Linda, your sneakers look really good doll. So glad you got them! I'm also loving that necklace. So pretty! HAHAHA The other location did work better! Everything happens for a reason. Oh, I like your thinking! Good for you! The right person will come along. He'll knock those sneakers off of your feet! HaHaHa Have a great day!

I just have to comment in this post! Haha! I love those shoes! I am actually pondering if I should also get one and succumb to the trend. But I don't look good in sneakers so never mind. :p Anyway, your lolo is right! I mean its fun, but I don't think it's right to keep us guessing or waiting. Filipinos are really old-school. Guys should always pursue the girl, not the way around. They should make "ligaw" or court the girl. You could ask your mom about that. Haha! :)

I so want your hair girl. It is so pretty and thick and those bangs just look so good on you! (I know, I think I say i want your hair like once a week but it's true, you have gorgeous hair.) Those wedge sneakers are pretty awesome, they really seem to suit your style and work for you, I love the whole casual cute look.
And yay, I'm so happy that you've come to some sort of conclusion with CG. It's no fun being in that weird sort of limbo and now you can just enjoy hanging out and flirting with him without stressing out. You have such a good outlook on this whole thing and I'm just really proud of you, you've got your stuff together!
