Reflections

Top: Wet Seal   Skirt, Aviators, & Beanie: Rue 21   Sneakers: Go Jane   Bracelet: c/o 2 Hello Beautiful   Necklace: The Phrenzy
I still have two other outfit posts that were taken "pre-ombre", and I'll get those posted throughout the upcoming week. I was just too impatient to wait till they were up to show off my new hair - so here it is! I feel like it finally matches my style and reflects who I am better. I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out, especially with what I paid for it. I used the L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombre at home dye kit. $11 for this? That's something I can afford!
Although my poor mom had to endure my stressed out chatter and constant reminders of "don't forget, more towards the bottom!" (etc.) while she applied the dye to my hair...haha, hey, I tend to balk when it comes to change of any kind and get antsy when going through the process. However, I knew I wanted a bigger change for this upcoming summer. While my bangs were a step closer to what I wanted, this completed that beginning leap. Its not a shocking change from brunette to blonde, but a gradual shift to light brown that's noticeable. Which is exactly what I wanted. Perhaps in the future I'll try a more blonde hue, but for now, this fits my "naturally pretty" preference when it comes to beauty trends.
This new bracelet from 2 Hello Beautiful is a lovely addition to my jewelry collection. From the moment I read the description for Zoe I (yes, it has a name), she won my heart over. Here, check it out for yourself:
One of our biggest pet peeves when it comes to fashion is the idea that there are certain rules that must be followed. Zoe fights back with her mixed metallic design and overall rocker chic appeal.
Oh Zoe, you rebel.
Don't forget, you can get $5 off a purchase of $10 or more on 2 Hello Beautiful when you use the code: TRENDYTEAL!

So for this outfit, I wanted to incorporate my favorite items (which now includes Zoe, of course). I knew I had to have my sneaker wedges in there, since I wear them all the time. Its only because I update this blog fairly regularly that I make any effort to change my shoes - outside of those posts though, you can bet these are my fallback. Paired with my fave slouchy tee, a beanie, and some aviators, I feel like this outfit is 100% my style - now if only I'd squeezed in some spikes somewhere...

Notice how much of this outfit is from Rue 21? When you do some digging, you can actually find quality stuff for fantastic prices there! These colorful, mirrored sunglasses are my most recent purchase from them, and I can happily check them off my wishlist now. I've been spotting them all over blogs recently (namely here and here), and I love how they step up your classic, cool aviators.

I can hardly believe how quickly spring break went by for me. This weekend doesn't even count towards it, since I've been doing closing shifts - so I'm working all day and night today. Happy Easter everyone!
Then its back to school tomorrow. Although I recently received some exciting news in the mail...guess who was invited to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society?
Basically, they're saying I'm smart. Haha, it was a pleasant surprise to get, and now I'm motivated more than ever to keep up my grades this semester!

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

So I couldn't stop singing the Mulan Reflection song after reading your title. WHEN WILL MY REFLECTION SHHOOOWWWW... WHOO I AMM... INSSIIIDEDEEEE.

Hehe. Linda, I'm sure that you know by now I love your hair! It turned out so very awesome. I love how it just looks like it's lighter on the bottom of your hair. No crazy purple or blue this time? ;)

Congrats on getting in the honor society! The honor societies in college can be pretty crazy, and you'll probably get dozens mor offers, too. And then you'll be all, "Crap, there are too many!"

Yeah, your glasses are pretty rad looking. I've been liking the holographic/colorful kind of trend going around. Also, no spikes?! What is this blasphemy?! ;)

Love how the ombre turned out, it's super natural looking-- aka the best type. The color of your beanie is fantastic, and kind of reminds me of smurfs, but in a totally good way. Congrats on the honor society invite!

You and your mom did a fabulous job with your hair! It looks so good. Also congratulations on your membership into the National Honor Society. Linda, that is so awesome. Keep up the excellent work! I've always loved aviator glasses (top gun/Tom cruise haha). They look amazing on women as well. Happy Easter and Have A Great Week!

but it's great to be smart, isn't it? ;) keep up the great work, Linda!
your new bracelet indeed is pretty, I noticed it right away. and the combo of your sneaker wedges and birdie pattern skirt is awesome.
oh and your hair actually kind of reminds me of dip dyed style more than ombre. but what matters is the colour not the name, right? and it's a lovely colour for sure!

Your hair turned out awesome awesome AWESOME. Ombre looks so good on you dear! Reading about your difficulty with change was like you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm the exact same way, and even making little changes (such as when I ombre'd my hair) are typically a lengthy process as I'm super indecisive and treat any type of change carefully as if it's the sketchiest thing I've ever done.

By the way, this outfit is perfect. I really need to purchase some sneaker wedges!!!

Oh wow, the ombre came out to nice looking! It actually looks really natural and sort of sun bleached, like when you leave your hair in a ponytail all summer and the ends get bleached out. (Or maybe I'm the only one that happens to.) I'm really picky when I dye my hair as well so laughed so much over how bossy you were! Hey, no point in doing it if it doesn't look right!

Yay!!! The ombre looks so good! I'd even add a little blond to the tips (but I tend to get carried away with bleach sometimes...lol). I've never actually done ombre myself; mine's just a result of having dyed my hair a couple years ago and then being too lazy to keep it up. So...was it easy? It looks awesome.

And yes! Sneaker wedges. I lol'ed when I read that you had to make an effort to change your shoes for the blog because I am in the same exact situation! Seriously, just told myself last week that I needed to change it up a little. I love a good sneaker wedge! I love the height they add, yet are completely comfortable. This is a very new concept to me :)
