Orange Burst

Top: (thrifted) ella moss   Jeans: (thrifted) Bullhead   Wedges: c/o My Hot Shoes   Clutch: c/o Too Sexy Store   Necklace: Philippines

When my eyes landed on this billowy sleeved top, I knew I had to have it. For $3, who could argue? I know I couldn't! My self control is already so weak. Mix in a pretty orange color, a polka dot print, and lace trim, and my resistance was gone.

So this is another example of my boho style resurfacing. I decided to go with the bright color and played it up with my orange clutch from Too Sexy Store and my favorite floral wedges. Once again, I feel like I came up with a casual date outfit with these shoes. Now if only I could find one...haha!
Why is it I attract the guys I'm not interested in?
Have I told you about Cold Choice boy at work? He works in the salad bar area and last weekend, he stuck around after closing time just to talk to me. For over half an hour. He's a nice guy and it was easy to talk to him - and I suppose I shouldn't have been quite so chatty. Although I feel like I'm an introvert, I can get quite talkative if someone gets me going. Unfortunately for him, I've already classified him as someone who'd be a good guy friend.

So when he asked me what I was doing for spring break and mentioned that "we should do something together sometime," I immediately started kicking myself for being so friendly.
"Oh yeah, we should get a group of friends and go shooting or something," I replied cheerfully, hoping he'd get the hint. Problem is, since we work at the same place and often at the same hours, it'll be difficult to avoid him if he gets persistent like the Cowboy did...
Oh the ironies of life.

Ah well. Today I'm taking a mini trip to the big city here with some girl friends and we plan on hitting up the mall, seeing a movie, eating out, and searching through some thrift stores. It'll be just what I need right now!

PS: Don't forget to enter my international giveaway with Stylegodis for a chance to win a piece of jewelry from them here!

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Love your outfit (so jealous of the weather, I am wearing a coat:/). Your wedges are gorgeous:)
I always love reading your post, each one with its story:) I totally get what you mean about attracting the guys that don't attract you (I used to have that problem!).. I am in a relationship for almost two years now, and it all started when I stopped searching for it:) Maybe he is not that bad after all, give him a chance (as I always say you will not lose anything, you may gain something!).x

I love that the clutch also serves as a shoulder bag. It's a very pretty color! Linda, just tell people straight out when you feel a certain way. It will save you a lot of agony. Say, thank you but I don't see you that way. That's what I do. The message gets across and you're done. Girl, have a great time!

SaraM said...

#Prettygirlproblems.... ;) Hahaha! Why is it that all the weird ones are like moths to the flame, while all the cute ones already have girlfriends?? I'm with you, sister; getting just one date is so hard! Just yesterday, I was at church and met this really really cute guy, only to find out he's taken... A good guy's bound to show up sometime, right? Haha!
Btw, you look like the sun. And it's freaking adorable!

Ashley said...

This is the perfect outfit for spring! Love the bright colors and mixed prints and that top is a steal for $3!!! Linda does it again....always :)

As for the boy situation...for some reason some boys just think that by simply smiling at them it's a green light for them to pursue you. When in fact, you were just being nice! Those are typically the ones that cannot for the life of them take a hint. Reasoning? You are gorgeous...a total catch. The boys who you want to attract are typically too shy to approach you or would never be so bold. Every once in awhile, the stars align and you get the perfect match of boldness/cuteness 'I would actually date him'. It just takes fending off a few wrong ones along the way:)

I absolutely love sunset photos and the first one is just gorgeous! <3 The only problem I have with sunset pics is that the light goes so quickly the "after-sunset" pics ain't always the best. Or it's just me being fossy LOL ;)
Anyhow, don't rush into anything you ain't sure about. I am positive someone right for you is just there somewhere. "Good things come to those who wait..." :)
Kisses and thanks for your kind words when I was feeling down. I linked your blog in my latest post just as a little "Thank you". ;)

This shirt is so pretty! And for such a steal too. I love these wedges every time you wear them. They're so you- pretty killer, but really sweet :)

And you've just got those boys coming after you left and right, don't you? Not that I blame them!

Katie Q. said...

Oh that poor man, he's in the friend zone. (Seriously, it seems like you can never just chat with a dude without them thinking "Yeah, she is SO into me, she's making eye contact!" It's hard to find good guy friends.:P) And i was going to say, be careful about wishing for a date to take those shoes out on, pursuant cowboy might try to take you up on that!

Speaking of those gorgeous shoes, I love how they play with this top! The florals with the red pattern is so pretty and carefree looking, I love your boho style! It seems like it's so much easier to have a boho style in the summer time, winter-time boho always seems to come off as bag-lady, throw-everything-in-the-closet-on-and-look-like-an-olsen-sister.

Hi Linda, I adore these varying shades and prints in orange, what wonderful levels of the colour mixed together. Love the chic clutch and stunning floral wedges. Your charm and beauty is truly magnetic, you will need to get something large to beat these wannabe boys off, lol! Enjoy your trip! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit :) I appreciate your comments!

Oh Linda you have on those awesome shoes again. I like that they are "floral wedges". I mean, yes that is what they are. I call them your "adorably fun flowered feet". and ...I am lusting after your purse. How cute is that?

Oh and ...I know why you are attracting the guys you don't want! You don't want any REAL relationship right now. You really don't, so you are attracting the "non-interest" types.

See, you didn't know I had Dr. Laura in me, did you?

Oh my gosh, Linda, there's a guy who works at the salad bar at a deli I frequently visit who is literally this guy you've described--so easy to talk to, really nice so you can't say he's not, but you would rather be friends. Ha! It's funny how similar our lives are sometimes. I have that problem of being too friendly, too... we are such pushovers, hahaha.

Anyway, I hope he won't be persistent. I really wouldn't know what to do if he straight up asked you out, so hopefully that won't be the case!

I am really liking those wedges yet again. They're so so pretty! And a $3 top? Get it, girl. :D

I agree with you--this ensemble is very boho. I'm loving that clutch! And that lovely flowy top... very 1970s!

Isn't that how it always is though? You just act polite and friendly towards a guy and he thinks you're into him. Such eyeroll-worthy behavior, but well, that's men--or shall I say, little boys--for you! :P
