If I Was An Office Girl

Dress: c/o eShakti   Blazer: thrifted   Shoes: c/o My Hot Shoes   Bangles: Philippines   Belt: thrifted

...this is what I would wear. Okay, depending on the office of course - I did choose to have this hemline shortened...hehe. I was incredibly lucky to have eShakti contact me again to review one of their spring items. Believe me, it was a tough choice, but I finally settled on this lovely, porcelain-blue print dress. Since eShakti offers customization on their clothes, I had this dress tailored to fit my odd body frame - and I love it! I kid you not, my body shape is just weird. No bust or butt to speak off, but what I do have is this really wide waist. Seriously, there is hardly any narrowing there. I have a hard time finding dresses because of this. I need a large size to fit over my waist, but then I don't have the boobs to fill out the top half most of the time. Which is why a customization option is a lifesaver!

I think that's a fantastic thing about fashion - once you learn how to dress for your body, your clothes act as a stealthy camouflage and can transform your figure.
Something else I love about eShakti clothes? Pockets. Their skirts and dresses always come with a pockets option - and who in their right mind would turn that down?
So just for you, my dear readers, you get 20% off with the code TRENDYTEL!

Also, I don't do this much, but I decided to enter the American Eagle Project Live Your Life. I've become obsessed with their denim and have been wearing their line a lot more lately - so I figured why not?
If you wouldn't mind, could you possibly stop by my profile and vote for me?
I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much!
Also, may I point out my new cork wedges from My Hot Shoes? Once this yucky, grey weather clears up, I'll probably be wearing these a lot. They're black, so the perfect neutral, and goodness, they're just some awesome chunky wedges! Check out the pretty rose-gold studs on them.

So I didn't mention this in the last post, but I saw P again on Monday.
Running into him, after that last disastrous sighting, was completely different this time. I've actually been hoping I might bump into him, because I wanted to test myself. To see where I'm at now. Also, to just say hi and see how he's doing. We haven't exchanged a single word since our last coffee together when we said goodbye. Even if we're not dating anymore, I still care about what happens to him and how he's doing. He was a friend first, after all.

When I saw that familiar frame walking towards me down the hallway, that old longboard dragging alongside him, I felt my breath catch slightly. But then, instead of a wave of old feelings and dizziness, nothing hit me. Nothing compared to last time at least. Instead, a soft sense of sadness washed over me, accompanied by the happiness you feel when you run into an old friend. It was odd, to realize  those old feelings are fading away - but a relief. We talked a bit, asked polite questions about how the semester was going, and parted ways.

As I walked out of the building alone, I felt a weak smile form on my face.
Life goes on, whether we think we're ready or not, and I'm ready to leave this part of my life in the past. It was a brief, joyful one, but its time to move forward. As Natasha Bedingfield reminds us, the rest is still unwritten - and there's only one way to change that!

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
Romans 5:3-4

Oh man, the name of that dress is so appropriate, 'cause it totally reminds me of a tiny porcelain tea set. Too cute! I love that you wore it with a white belt.

&& hey, that's a good thing that you don't feel the same feelings when you see the other one walking toward you. Just means you're ready to move on and that you've accepted it wasn't going to work out. You keep your chin up, Linda! <3 Great things are in store for youuu! :D

oh my, that is one beautiful springlike look! the dress indeed is so nice and those shades of blue are just so perfect. and the classic black blazer is like a cherry on top!
oh and those wedges.. you're just making me jealous when wearing all those sandals since Estonia is still super snowy and slippery and I can only wear my winter boots.
anyway, I'm glad you have moved on and are looking into the bright and happy future ;)

Look at you lookin at the bright side, you go girl!
Also, I love that you're not letting your self image stop you from wearing what you like, just altering things to fit you the way you feel comfortable. Very cool! My dressing issue is usually my long torso. Everything that seems to fit most everyone else to the knees or to the waist is automatically a few inches shorter on me. Boo!

This print is so beautiful! Definitely reminds me of pretty porcelain china. You look so lovely in it! As for being shaped weird, aren't we all? I have no bust, a teeny waist and big hips. So annoying. Im glad to hear you're feeling good about letting go of the past! You're such an amazing strong girl and a great example!

The pattern on this dress is so gorgeous, it reminded me of my mom's china. (The blazer and the dark tights really do winterize it, and I like the contrast on the longer jacket hemline with the dress' shorter hemline.)

It's great to hear how it went seeing your ex again, it sounds like a world of difference from the last time and that's really wonderful to hear. :)
