The Cold Shoulder(s)

Sweater: c/o Oasap   Jeans: American Eagle   Shoes: c/o My Hot Shoes   Beanie: Rue 21   Bag: c/o Wholesale-Dress   Earrings: Debs   Sunglasses: Philippines

"That is one cool shirt - you ever poke someone with it?"
"Oh yeah, you know, if someone gets me irritated, I might shoulder bump them a little."
That was a conversation held with the guy who was ringing me up at the counter while out shopping.
Then later that same night, I hugged my friend Kirsten, and she rubbed her jaw afterward saying, "Wow, those things are actually sharp!"

So this would be the top I'll be wearing when I'm feeling anti-social. Nothing like some sharply spiked shoulders to scare people off. I'm certain my dad would approve of this for a first-date outfit.

Although I love how this sweater appears, I'm sad to say that the overall quality is not up to par with past products I've received from Oasap. One of the spikes have already fallen off, and the rest feel rather flimsily attached as it is. I plan on wearing it a few more times, and if several more fall off (which I'm anticipating) I think I'll just remove them all and then hot glue them onto a denim jacket I have. I've been wanting some spiked shoulders for my favorite, summer layer!

I don't know what it is about spikes that appeals to me so much lately. Perhaps its because they completely contradict my personality. The most common adjective used to describe me is "sweet."

Trust me though, there's nothing sweet about these lethal spikes.

PS: Thanks for reminding me to lighten up when it comes to getting to know CG! Haha, I always tend to overthink things and miss out on the fun moments in life because of that. I'm going to try to keep a balanced attitude of caution and carefree when it comes to him now. I think after last semester, its time to enjoy being a single girl in college!

such a shame when it comes to those spikes. I always check how strong the studs or spikes are before I buy something like that because I hate it when they fall off. though that tiger print looks absolutely gorgeous! (the year of the tiger is my year actually and I even have a tattoo in honour of tigers :)
oh and those booties are F I E R C E!

Oooh, matching spikes! I must admit I'm not a spiked person (save for one belt) because after discovering that they actually hurt, I don't fancy having to accidentally injure myself and others. :P

And what's funny is that I actually have relatives up in Idaho--Boise and Sun Valley, in fact (which was my first encounter with snow). Obviously you need to come back and visit your home state!

Ah Linda! This all sounds good. You sound like you have a great head on your shoulders now, even if one has some have fastened spikes on it! lol

I think I would be so dang paranoid of injuring myself with those spikes. I don't know. I would rather have puffballs or springs fastened to my clothes and or shoes than spikes. But I get your liking them, I do! :D

Yeah, Linda, that top definitely looks a bit deadly... in fact, your style is pretty deadly, but I mean that in a totally rad way. ;) Haha, especially with those shoes! You're a walking weapon. Ain't nobody gon mess with YOU!

Haha, you seem so sweet, but you dress so spiky! ;) It's okay. Sometimes, I feel like how we dress doesn't really describe us. Because sometimes I feel like dressing a bit "dark" and I'm a pretty bubbly person. Usually. Sometimes. :D

Shame that the spikes are falling off, as they look great! Love them with the spiked shoes too :)

Girl, you are fierce! I love that you are totally rocking that edgy sweater and fantastic pair of shoes, which totally seems to contradict your sweet personality. But THAT is what I love about you and your totally wear whatever you want and kill it every time. You don't put yourself in a box when it comes to clothes and I absolutely adore that about you. You are a fashion risk taker, Linda! You Go Girl!! (Okay, okay...I had to put a little woman empowerment in there...haha!).

xo Ashley

omg awesome outfit, i love the double spikes, great styling!
aww that sucks the quality of the jumper wasnt that good, i had that issue with my sheinside jumper, it like actually completely unravelled on the should and i cant wear it now :(

Ho my- A little part of me secretly wishes I could wear spiked platform shoes like that. They are just so cool! I really love your aviators too. They're so laid back and fresh. Happy weekend darling!

That sweater is fantastic! Too bad it isn't holding up very well... I bet CG got a kick out of all your spikes! Hahaha! I definitely think you're very sweet, but you pull off this trend flawlessly!
Btw, thank you for your sweet comments! I've passed along the compliments to Masyn, and she is very flattered. ;)

Linda, you are so gorgeous! You've got a lovely smile. That sweatshirt is awesome, unfortunate to hear the quality isn't up to par. Hope you've been well!

These boots are way too cool! I was eyeing something like this for awhile but couldn't decide on getting them. You know, mountain resort town is more about hiking boots than heels with spikes. But I loooove these on you!

I love your outfit! It is so so edgy and punk :D And I actually laughed when you said your dad would approve your outfit for a first date!!

I also really really like spikes. I got this kit from pink manila and have been stapling spikes onto my more "girly" outfits. I don't know why, but spikes are really addicting! Hahah

Thank you for the kind comment on my blog I tried to go all out at LFW like it was a night out rather than my normal everyday looks.
You look fantastic I love the heels. It's a shame about the studs- but they would look fantastic on a jacket and the sweater would still look amazing without them.
Glad your lightening up and going to enjoy yourself- I've been in a relationship for a while but it often feels like im a single girl

Spikes are indeed amazing! But it's a shame that the sweater didn't work out quality-wise. I heard similar reviews about Oasap products (namely shoes) and how things just fall off. So sad to see cute things in poor quality. Either way, love the way you styled it, with the spikes on the heels and that adorable fringe bag!

you totally got your camera aperture setting right Linda, this photo set is amazing and your outfit is by far my favorite! the shoes are killer! i will steal them from you tonight, watch out! haha.

and you know what, i'm so into stud too! it's a common syndrome.

btw, i never answered your question about me being in band... yes, i used to be in an all girl band back when i studied in the Philippines over 5 years ago. but i came back to Macau and didn't really continue. i occasionally join Penguin and his cousins for a few gigs but I don't take it seriously anymore. although i love playing music, i think fashion and business is more for me. =) what about you? didn't you form a band if i remember correctly?

You and your spikes! I just have to gush over these boots, I love the spikes but along the back and the texture of the boots, they have a modified Jeffery Campbell look going on that is really cool. (These are actually way better than the jeffery campbell litas, the shape is a little less awkward.)
It is okay to think in depth about CG but I think you're correct in your attuide about enjoying being a single girl having fun right now. It's hard when you just get out of a relationship and it's great to have that little bit of time to really know who you are and what you're really looking for in someone. That said, you never really know who you'll fall for and even though it sounds like hes a little different from other guys that you've dated, that might be a really good thing! you wouldn't want to date the same person over and over and getting to know people with different life experiences and outlooks can be really amazing. (And I am so sorry, I sound like such a nag there! Basically, just have fun and live in the moment. You look so joyful and happy right now and it's really wonderful to see!)
