Distractions Make For Good Stories

Tee: Target   Kimono: c/o August Wrinkle   Cardigan: (thrifted) Gap   Jeggings: American Eagle   Boots: c/o My Hot Shoes   Beanie: gift   Bag: Rue 21   Necklace: c/o Estarer

In case it wasn't obvious enough, I have a fetish for all things studded or spiked. Thus, these studded combat boots are now my favorite pair of shoes. Ever. They've got cool side zips that not only add to their style, but also make it incredibly easy to slip on and off. I stomped through slushy snow and mud while walking around campus in these, and they're the perfect, most functional pair of shoes I own - all while looking incredible!
Okay, enough gushing of the shoes. I must refrain. But yeah, if you're looking for cool boots, consider these.
"Wait...where are we going?"
I halted in the middle of our walk, belatedly realizing we were going in the opposite direction of where I needed to be.
"I don't know, I was just following you."
"Oh, well I need to head to the gym, so..."
"Oh cool, I needed to go to the Taylor building anyway, and that's on the way. I'll walk you to your class."
With that, we made a U-turn and continued on our way.

Yes, that would be a conversation between CG and I. From here on out, I am dubbing him CG (for Cute Guy) since I can't think of anything else. Haha, so far we're in the cutesy stage of getting to know each other, and its that fun, butterfly-filled part. You know, being eager to get to class just to see him again, all while feeling slightly nervous because you wonder how things will go. Walking into class to find he's situated himself in the desk that's right next to yours. Getting that tingly sensation when you catch him glancing at you and smiling.

I must say, for a distraction, he's a really good one.
Still, in the back of my mind, there's doubt. I'm worried about whether I'm being smart or not. I want to be cautious. He's not as clean cut as the guys I've gone for in the past, and that may be part of the appeal.
For now, I'm comfortable with this.
But we all know how that story goes, don't we?

PS: You know what beats those butterflies and tingles? Getting something in the mail for your birthday. Especially when its an amazing drawing depicting you with a beard:
Is this not amazing or what? Ali, I love you! Thank you so much, its hanging on my wall and never fails to make me smile or laugh when I see it. Check out this girl's fabulous blog - you won't regret it! Her artistic nature can be seen in her outfits too. :)

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

Bbb'aaawwwwww LINDA I feel so special to have had a shoutout in your post! I love you, too, girl! <3 Hehehe. We are awesome with our ridiculous facial hair.

I'm lovin' all the studs here, and I can see why you picked those awesome boots.I especially love the color--usually you see the black and silver studded kind, which are awesome, but these are like desert boots. Legit! And that necklace is fabulous, too.

LOL CG CUTE GUY that is precious. Hey, you've got good judgement, so you just do what feels right. If he ever says something that throws you off a little, I'm sure you'll sense it. You are a smart gal, Miss Linda! But until then, pursue, pursue, pursue!

Linda! Did I miss something [which is common of me] but is your birthday now or later or past or???

Q: Does CG know you have a blog? Is he reading about him here? Just wondering?

I think these boots are on my short list!!!! Must.get.some.for.me!

hahahaha Linda! You are so cute. "shut the front door" hahahaha, so fun!

Thank you for saying your nice words to me. I am a kid at heart. My daughters are 34 and 30 and they keep me young. They are always giving me style pointers and advice. They keep me young.

My Mom and her Dad were great youth seekers. They always wanted to know the lastest hit songs and wanted to attend dances. My parents met at a dance. I met my current husband at a dance. I firmly believe dancing [and blogging] keep you young.

(hug) Your comments were so great and they made me chuckle with lots of happy happy stuff. hahahahaha.

Adore the studded boots and the spiked necklace, an excellent combination and the beanie is ultra cute. It must be so exciting being in the 'getting-to-know-ya' stages with CG. I think you're exceptionally grounded and really sensible and you will know how to relate to the situation and make a proper judgment.

You look absolutely beautiful by the way-these photos are just stunning-you have the prettiest hair and you make me want to get bangs cut in mine! I love how chic and slightly bohemian this is-your leopard scarf is amaaazing.
I think it's good you're being cautious with CG. You'll have a better time being friends for a while first anyway! Sounds like you two enjoy each other's company though :)

Awww, I love reading about how it's going with CG, it's just adorableness! I do think it's interesting that he's not as clean cut as the other guys you've dated, do you mean in looks or personality? (Like does he have that rugged look going on or is he more of a badboy? He sounds like he's pretty smart and knows a little about the world. And I'm sorry, I just get so excited reading about it! I'm so happy to see you with a big smile on your face and sounding a little more like the old Linda. Either, he is a pretty good distraction!)

Those boots, oh man those are just awesome. I love the rugged look mixed in with the studs and the distracted leather is gorgeous! The art is really cute as well, it's so funny and such a sweet, personal gift. :)
