Airport Style

Tee, Sunglasses, Bracelet, Necklace: Philippines   Jeans: American Eagle   Boots: c/o My Hot Shoes

It was love at first sight when I spotted this cut-out shoulder tee while shopping in the Philippines. I pretty much yanked mom over, subtly pointed at the mannequin wearing the shirt, and said, "That one."
Haha, she helped me haggle the vendor down, and I walked away with not only this mocha colored shirt, but a navy one as well. I ended up picking a lot of solid, neutral colored tops from this trip - that's something recent that I'm starting to embrace more. Simplicity with key details can make for lovely outfits.

Anyway, this is what I wore for my long (loooooong) trip back home from the Philippines. So yes, I've held onto these photos for a while to save for a day when I'd need them...haha. We started out flying from Manila to Incheon (that's in Korea, in case you couldn't guess) around midnight. Then when we got to Incheon, we had to wait for 11 hours before our next flight took us to San Francisco. It was an incredibly long wait, so mom and I explored the airport after taking a nap. Its definitely my favorite airport now. Its huge and everything is kept very clean. I found this empty waiting area and knew the lighting was just perfect for some outfit photos. If I lived nearby, I think I'd have my outfits photographed here all the time!
So then I wandered around on my own and tried to subtly take photos of all the incredibly stylish people I spotted. There were so many moments I'd think 'OooOoo, I love that! How did she/he think of that?'
Airports are a fantastic source for inspiration!
Although since I was trying not to be a total creeper, a lot of these photos are from the back. Not sure what kind of reaction I'd get if I went all paparazzi on random strangers.

You look way cuter and more put together than I EVER do in an airport! You will only find me in stretchy pants and an oversized sweater haha! Love the little bear necklace and the idea of taking photos of outfits in an airport is AMAZING!
Have a great day!

OMG I love Incheon too! Did you fly Korean Air? Their Bulgogi is my favorite. LOL I would definitely do this taking pictures at airports too when I fly to the Philippines. Hahaha! Oh by the way, that top is super cute!

You've got guts girl! I've always wanted to go all sartorialist on stylish locals here in macao but I'm so shy to go ask, or even take photos on the sly! Hehe, love the tee, yep the Phils is a gold mine of great clothes :) can't wait to see the navy one

such a great post, Linda. I love your outfit and I love those inspirational snapshots.
when it comes to your outfit I must say I also appreciate simplicity. that tee has such a special shape and cut so it doesn't even need a very bright colour. and how awesome is the jewellery! I love both pieces you're wearing here.

I really like that guy's look! His coat is awesome. He is awesome. Stylish people are always awesome. Props for being so brave and 1) taking pictures in public and 2) taking pictures of unsuspecting people. You creeper, you! ;) Bahaha.

That necklace is precious. It stands out so well even though it's super tiny and delicate. Eep! Cute Linda. <3

Whoa, there are some stylish people at the airports down there! (We all look like frumps up here, lots of sweats, jeans and boots.) This top is so pretty on you, I love the neutral color and I really like how you styled it with those tough boots. Way to go on haggling the vendor down as well, sometimes I feel like that's one aspect we really miss out on when we shopping the department stores.

Genie said...

Totally loving the boots, I know what you mean as far as not leaving without a pair that you're totally in love with. I think it's awesome that you had the guts to photography strangers in an airport, I would've love to have done the same, although I'm not sure I'd be skilled enough to do it while they weren't looking. Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

I totally agree with what you said about simplicity with details. I've been moving that way also- it makes it so much easier to get dressed and allows for versatility too. You look beautiful :)
And thank you for the sweetest comment ever!! You truly have made me feel confident in so many ways-reminds me of this verse:
Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Blessings to you, you creation of loveliness! Glad we can build one another up :)

I'm way too scared to play paparazzi. Also, because my phone has that annoying camera click sound that can never be turned off! But I love the coat in the last photo. And cute shirt! Sometimes simple looks call for those fun touches. :)

Airport look means lazy look! Especially at NAIA in Manila cause they would literally make you take off your shoes and accessories for probably three times before you board the plane. That layover was long! I remember going to New York with my sister and we only stayed there in Incheon for four hours max, but we arrived at 4am so the establishments were still closed. Anyway, I look those boots! :) They look really comfy!

Thats an extremely long way back! But I love long journeys. I always want to take style pictures of people but wonder if they will think I am crazy trying to photograph them randomly, lol. You got some great shots, its interesting to see what people are wearing in different places. Super cute tee, the cut-outs are great
