The Thanksgiving Skirt

I would like to dub this skirt "The Thanksgiving Skirt." It was thrifted some time ago, but this would be the first, formal introduction it gets to the blog. What better November piece to own, right? Haha, I love the colors and vintage floral print! Combined with some brown accents, I feel like this outfit flowed seamlessly from summer into fall.
Top: Rue 21   Skirt, Bag, & Belt: thrifted   Wedges: c/o My Hot Shoes   Necklace: c/o Estarer

So I was kindly included in Maiken's Sunshine Award! I said I'd answer her questions too, so here they are.

1. Are you pleased with your current job and/or studies? If not, what would you change?
I work as a line attendant at Golden Corral, a buffet, and while I'm satisfied right now with where I'm at and how it's provided me with spending money and good hours, I know that's not where I want to stay. Aha, I have big dreams of one day traveling everywhere and somehow make it a part of my job. Also, as a freshman at college, I'm saving a lot of money by going to the local campus. But for now, where I'm at right now is alright with me.
2. How important is fashion to you?
Well, I have a fashion blog that I update rather regularly, so it's fairly important to me. Haha, I've gone to private schools all my life, and for most of it, I was confined to wearing a uniform. Yup, not a strict dress code, a uniform. There is a difference. I guess that restriction and uniformity got to me, so now I hate being generic and put effort into breaking the tee+jeans+sneakers uniform that's rampant here.
3. How many blogs do you read regularly?
Oh goodness...I have no clue. QUITE a few. I follow my favorite bloggers through Bloglovin so I don't miss a post, and almost every day there are over 100 new posts on there. However, I don't always have time to read each one.
4. How often do you use your ID (Identity) Card?
This is an interesting question...I use it often enough. I use my student ID card quite a bit.
  5. Name the last piece of clothing or accessory you bought.
Soooo...I probably shouldn't have wandered inside the mall, but there was a sale on all the denim at American Eagle this week...and there were these awesome acid-wash jeggings there...and then there was this leather paneled skirt on sale at Debs....and yeah, they're both hanging in my closet now.

6. Name three of your best thrift finds.
This is an incredibly difficult question, because honestly? Over half my closet is thrifted! But off the top of my head, I'd have to say my best three finds are this brown, cable knit sweater, this neutral, cozy cardigan, and this cheetah print tank.
  7. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas, for sure! It's filled with so many wonderful things - tasty hot drinks, snow, Christmas break, and having an excuse to snuggle under a blanket with a good book.
8. Which group(s) and/or singer(s) do you like?
I have such varied taste - it seriously depends on my mood. However, I have a strong affinity for country and rock bands. So some favorites would be Paramore, Boys Like Girls, Fireflight, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban
9. Which TV shows do you watch on a regular basis?
Okay, confession time. We don't get TV channels where I live - we're too cheap to pay for cable, and our rabbit ears pick up crap-worth signal. Sooo...when we go on roadtrips and we stay at hotels, I'll usually settle down in front of the TV there and absorb multiple shows. My favorites would be The Big Bang Theory, Vampire Diaries, and Animal Planet.
  10. You and junk food. What kind of relationship do you have?
It's a love-hate relationship. I'm a girl with a major sweet tooth, so it can be tough to try and control my portions. Ha, and I won't stress too much about it - if I'm craving something, I'll indulge myself. But I try to stay active and not be a total glutton.

Hope you enjoyed finding out a little bit more about me, and thanks again to Maiken for tagging me in the Sunshine Award! :)

Can't believe you don't have a TV - I would be so sad if I didn't, I'm too addicted. Probably a bad thing!

Hi sweety, I enjoyed reading your interview and getting to know more about you. The skirt is a beautiful piece and you've taken it to the next level with those amazing boots. Here in SA, every single school private or not has uniforms so we were very restricted too. Many people I know don't have Tv's or watch tv randomly either, they just download every episode of their favourite series online instead. Good taste in music!

Ooooh, so you like country, do ya? Do you like Luke Bryan? Good stuff right there!

I can see why you call this the Thanksgiving skirt--it's colors are definitely reminiscent of Thanksgiving, especially the deep red. And your shoes are so fierce, girl. FIERCE LINDA IN HER FIERCE SHOES. I feel like all of your shoes are so fierce. You must have one fierce shoe collection!
