SLIDER

Its Raining Leaves

Dress: c/o Sugarlips   Cardigan: thrifted   Tights: Target   Wedges: (gift) Payless   Hat: JcPenney

When mom and I ventured down to one of our favorite places to walk, we were amazed by the coating of leaves all over the grass. Even then, they lazily continued to drift down in spiraling circles as we snapped away. I just love this time of year! Autumn is always so short though, so I've been stockpiling some outfit photos that I'm excited to show you guys with fall-based backgrounds.
As for life lately...well, I feel like I'm getting worn down to the bottom of my resistance. I'm averaging almost 30 hours of work a week, plus going full time at school, and I always try squeezing in what little social life I can. All in all...it's too much for me. I have to cut back and prioritize what I can do.
I'm just...tired of it all. Even Shay, a co-worker at Golden Corral, has been asking me lately if I'm doing alright. She's such a sweetheart and always gives me a bright smile and offers me hugs when she notices I'm particularly down. I'm lucky I get to work with some really sweet people. One of the ladies I close with even hugged me at the end of last night and just told me, "I love you girl."
But really, I think the stress is starting to affect my memory. Tuesday night I locked my keys in my car, and no one was able to come get me and bring the spare, and I was stuck at work. However, I told my manager, and he asked if we had AAA insurance. We do, but I'm not covered under it apparently, so after a moment's thought he whipped out his phone and placed a call.
"What's your license plate dear?" he asked.
He ended up using his own insurance to have my car unlocked! Isn't that just awesome? I couldn't stop saying thank you, and he just winked at me and said, "If they ask any questions, you'll be my granddaughter, got it?"
So I'm quite fortunate he helped me out. However, I feel like I'm losing my mind. All I can think about and worry over are things like "I have a math exam Monday, speech on Wednesday, oh and then there's that final draft essay I need to have done too...." There are not enough hours in the day for everything! I want to ask for less hours at work, but at the same time, the paycheck really does help with a lot, and I'm trying to save for a possible trip this winter. So for now I'm holding back...but during finals week I think I'll beg for more time off. As of right now, I only get Wednesdays off, and I like to think of it as my Fridays. Haha, I actually dread Fridays since that's the craziest day of work and I close - so I'm always stuck there until about 11 at night.
Anyway, enough of my whining. Sometime I just want to vent. In all honesty, I shouldn't be complaining really, because at least I have a job, am able to afford my education, and am surrounded by some wonderful people. I'll figure things out. I just need to focus and spend my time on what needs to get done. Thankfully, I did find a little time to do some blogging for today. Haha, I have a load of outfit pictures to share with you guys, I just have to sit down, edit them, and type the posts up!
There are a lot of pictures in this post since I love so many of them. It was a beautiful fall day at a lovely location, and mom and I couldn't get enough. Haha, like the self portrait of us above? We were in a goofy mood. I'm glad we were able to spend some time together that day. We went to a small cafe and enjoyed a large lunch before I had to go back to school.
Hehe, she started having fun in the leaves too.
Sorry to unload on you guys. Thanks for taking time to visit my blog and (if you had the patience) even read it! Haha, happy weekend.

i'm sorry you've been pulled in so many directions. i hope that soon you can have a little more time to yourself that doesn't involve work or school!! on the positive side, you look beautiful. this dress is so pretty and i love how you've "falled" it up with the tights, boot and hat!

Hi Linda, it all does sound quite overwhelming...and I hope that things calm down for you, at least the holidays are near. What I love about these images are the beautiful autumn leaves, thats the best part of the season, you look super pretty, adore the burgundy tights and hat.

Awww, Linda, I really hope that you're able to have some free time to yourself soon!! Unfortunately if you're studious, that's how school tends to go. But I think that you'll be able to pull through--you remember your deadlines and such, and just being aware of those and managing your time alone will help you reach your girls! Good luck lovely. :)

That's awesome that you got your car unlocked, though, and it's super great that you've got so many lovely people around you! Life ain't all so bad. :D :D

Well, that hat is really really a prretty color and I adore the buttons on that pretty dress. This is the most perfect fall outfit EVA.

Here's to Linda gettin' shit DONE

Aw Linda :( I hate that feeling of having so much to do and not being able to do it all! If only days were 26 hrs long...literally 2 more hours would be so amazing, right? I think I'd use them for sleep considering I only get about 6 hours of that right now...ugh. Anyways, it's good that you're looking on the brightside. Having a job, having lots of loving people, and being able to go to school are all GOOD things! :) And it's good that you can see that. I hope that things slow down for you soon!!! And these outfit pictures are so pretty! i'm still ooh-ing and ah-ing over the quality of your DSLR haha the detail and portrait shots are so crisp!!! Love the leaves. I've been stocking up on pics in the gorgeous backgrounds too! <3

Oh girl! I feel for you! College can be like that, so much and so little time, exciting but draining, wish I could offer wisdom but spent my 20s on minimum sleep myself. Just know you're not alone and we all come here happily to read your thoughts and look forward to your stories and send you friendly support! And know we adore your pictures too! No fall here in the desert so I really enjoy the autumn leaves :)

aww I hope things get better! Trust me, they will, it will just take time. I can remember how stressed out I used to get when I was in undergrad...and I seriously worked maybe only 10 hours a week- it's all I could do- the rest of my time was spend in the studio. I know that it can be extremely overwhelming but it's important for you to take a few minutes each day to just breathe-go for a 10 minute walk or something- trust me, it will help a lot with the stress! Good luck & I'm sure you'll do well! And a side note, I love the leaves dress! It's the perfect dress for this photo shoot!

You have a lot on your plate! I definitely understand. It's hard when trying to juggle school work, with work and your social life. You have to step back sometimes and just catch your breath because it can be overwhelming. Take one thing at a time! If you think of it all t once and what you have to do at the same time it becomes overbearing. that was so nice of him to use his insurance :) GOD gives you an angel ALWAYS! You and your mom are beautiful. I always love to see that. I'm close with my mom too. Hope all is WELL :)
