Red Riding Shrug

Something about this ginormous, bright red shrug makes me feel like I should be running through a dark forest like Amanda Seyfried in that remake of Red Riding Hood. For now, I suppose wandering the dark, musty aisle of an abandoned building works though.

Button Down: Walmart   Shrug: thrifted   Skirt: Rue 21   Shoes: c/o My Hot Shoes   Belt: Philippines   Ring: c/o Oasap

Okay, take a look at my new shoes !!!! They're hi top wedged sneakers - which have been on my lust list forEVER. I'm so ecstatic that I finally own a pair! And these are serious babes. No joke, they're navy-grey, suede, and have buckles. What better combination could there be? Plus, they're designed really compactly, and my feet feel so incredibly snug and stable. No fear of twisting an ankle with these on.

This outfit was literally thrown together one day. I didn't even check in the mirror if it looked good on - it felt good, so I went with it. And from the photos, I think it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself. Haha, I'm getting ready for cooler weather and am so excited to start layering again! I think it's awesome how all of us in the fashion blogosphere get so worked up over this season. But honestly, how could we not? It involves wearing snuggly sweaters, cardigans, tights, scarves....oh man, I can't wait. :)

So at work, there was this one adorable moment I have to share with you. I'm a line attendant, so I handle everyone's drinks as soon as they come in. As I'm grabbing this one family's sodas, I hear their little boy say something and everyone laughed. I'd thought he was talking to someone else, but when I glanced over he was looking straight at me, so I asked him to repeat what he said.
"You're very beautiful," is what came out of his mouth.
I think I was still smiling over that when I punched out. Haha, I told him that he'd made my day and he grinned so widely and did a little fist pump saying, "Yes!"
What a little charmer. There's hope for the next generation, girls! ;)

On the flip side...I think I have an unwelcome admirer. Aha, so last night when I was closing, this older guy who's a regular came in, and was excited to see me (we'll call him A). He told me how he'd come in yesterday but I wasn't there and he'd been wondering when he'd get to see me next. I didn't get any weirded out feelings until he started asking me when my next day off was...but he paid for his meal and left, so I thought I was in the safe zone. Then he came back up and said, "I don't know...but...can I buy you dinner Wednesday night? We could go see a movie or something."

Oh man. I felt kind of bad since he asked so hesitantly and shyly, but I shook my head and told him I had a boyfriend. He seemed disappointed, but let me tell you, he didn't give up. He left it at that at the moment, but later on, he came back again. Now this was when I'd locked the doors, so when people left they were locked out since we'd closed. I was mopping the floors and suddenly heard a light knocking on the front doors. I looked up and saw A outside peering in. I figured he might've forgotten to leave a tip for his waitress since some people have done that before, so I went and opened the door to ask. Instead, he handed me a card with his name and number scribbled on it and told me to call him sometime. At that point, I didn't feel bad at all, and told him, "I won't call you." But he pressed it into my hand and said, "Just as friends!"
Ugh. I hate that excuse. We both know that's not all he's after, so why would he bother saying that?
Ah well. I can handle myself, and when I mentioned the incident to Patrick, he said he just might have to stop in at Golden Corral more often. Which is perfectly fine with me! :)

This outfit is so cute! Those sneaker wedges are AWESOME. I am lusting after some, but haven't taken the plunge just yet. This post definitely made me realize I need some sneaker wedges in my life ASAP!

In high school, I worked on a project with a boy, so of course we had to exchange numbers. He was sweet, but a tad bit full of himself. Shortly after the project, he began texting me pictures of his face (think Zoolander) and asking if I thought he was cute. These pictures rolled in daily, and the funny thing is, is that I NEVER replied back to him. It was especially awkward since we had class together. Eventually the pictures stopped, but I still see him occasionally and he always blows me kisses or winks and acts like I really missed out. Sometimes boys can be SO dense...can't they take a hint?

gosh, I totally understand that "annoying guy" case. I used to meet many of those when I was still in the university. they just didn't understand how lame they were. it was simply.. annoying! :D sometimes it was even a bit scary.
but your outfit. I definitely like it a lot since lately I've become a quite big fan of red. and those new boots/sneakers look so cool! great find, Linda!

Hahaha, you could totally be a modern day little red riding hood! I totally dig the brightness of it, and it looks so super cozy. And of course, those wedge sneakers are so neat. I've secretly wanted a pair, but alas, I've been sort of poor for the last five months... ahahaha.

&& ERMERGERD that is indeed an adorable moment between you and Patrick. I'm glad that there's hope for the future. Even hope for single ole me, maybe?? Ehhhhhhhh we'll see... lol lol.
