Orange You Glad?

Dress (worn as skirt): c/o Madam Rage   Tee: PacSun   Clutch: c/o Too Sexy Jeans   Heels: c/o My Hot Shoes   Cuff: c/o RMS

Guys...I finally, finally, finally (finally!!!) have an envelope clutch. I can officially be considered a fashion blogger now.
Hahaha, okay does anyone else think these bags are being toted around by so many top-notch, fashion bloggers? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like these clutches add such a classic, effortlessly stylish touch to so many outfits. And in a hot orange hue, it gets a trendy twist ;)

It's goes perfectly with my closet too, because as you can see, I have a lot of orange-colored items. To add more interest, I decided to make my Madam Rage dress into a skirt by throwing on a slouchy tee over it. That's one of my favorite things about dresses - they're so versatile! You can wear them with tights for the fall/winter, turn them into a skirt by wearing a top over it, or belt a skirt on it to turn it into a top. There are so many options! I'm thinking I need to put a post together showing different outfits from one dress.

These bright punches of color totally reflect my attitude. I've always had a reputation as a smiley and happy person, so this outfit reflects that. I still remember when I first started at my high school, one of the seniors there noticed my constant smile and commented on it, asking me how I could always have a smile on my face. I just shrugged and said, "Well, it's easier than frowning. Don't you know you have to use more muscles to do that?"

Haha, he remembered my answer, and at the end of the year he signed my yearbook, telling me this: "Thank you for showing me the power a smile can have on people. I will always remember your beaming face brightening everyone's day in the hallway!"
I will always remember that, because it just gives me even more of a reason to smile. Life can be difficult enough if you don't try and keep a positive outlook on it.

So now at work, I've gotten that same reputation. It really makes me laugh over how often people there comment on my smile. It's mainly the guys of course - young AND old!
Here's an example. One of the conversations I had with a chef in the back went like this. I was sweeping in the bar area where he cooks and he told me, "Hey, you missed a spot." (It's an ongoing joke between us because of how often I have to go back and clean up).
"There's always a spot to clean," was my reply.
"Well how else am I supposed to see that beautiful smile of yours?" he asked.
That just made me laugh and I answered, "Now I know you're making a mess on purpose!"

One of the older cooks told me today, "You're always so happy, aren't you?"
Then with a wistful sigh he smiled at me and added, "You must be in love."

I believe I started blushing...because I'm sure you can guess who first popped into my mind when he said that. Although love is such a strong word...it kind of scares me actually.

aaaaAAAHHH this post gave me so many feels and squeals. So cute, so cute. What you're going through DOES sound a little bit scary... but a little but fun... that kind of scary, right? ;)

Tehe! Awe, awe awe~~

I love how you turned this dress into a sort of skirt by throwing a complementary color over it! This outfit is so bold, and I think it might be my favorite of yours. Goodness, I feel like you have so many new clothing items all the time! That, or you just do a fabulous job at remixing (I do know I've seen those amazing shoes before!) So very lucky, haha. :) Congrats on earning a new clutch, too. I love the little gold details!~ <3

hehehe I love both these little stories. And yes, I can guess who first popped into your mind when the older cook said that ;)

This outfit has so many pops of orange! I love the cute bird print of the dress and the envelope clutch does look super-duper fashion blogger-y. I felt the same way when I wore a clutch on my blog :P I always stay away from orange because I feel like it won't go with anything in closet but after seeing this outfit, I am thinking of getting some bright orange colors into my wardrobe :D

AW LINDA...IN LURRVVVV...it is a strong word, though. You totally seem like the kinda gal who would always have a grin on her face. Heck, you brighten my day with just your words! I'd be lying if I said I didn't look forward to "Lessons with Linda" everyday :) I LOVE hearing all about your adventures! And you're always so...so..upbeat. Anyway, there's my little speech for today. Love the orange pops! If your blog title didn't give it away, I'd think orange was your fave color. You're right--it suits you well because it's so punchy! :) Love the layering you've got going on! XO

I noticed you smiling all the time in your photos too! It's great that you can always have a smile on your face. I find people don't smile enough. You probably have brightened up so many people's lives just with your smile. That's wonderful. Bright and cheery just like your new brightly colored clutch :)

By the power of the envelope clutch, I pronounce you a official fashion blogger! Seriously though, I love all the different shades of orange - most shades of orange don't always suit my skin tone but I always love seeing it on other people.

It's seriously true: smiles have a profound effect on others. Even at my job, where I'm only speaking with customers on the phone, they always comment on how optimistic and happy I am. It's just easier to keep the day going when you choose to be so.
Who were you thinking of? Love can be a pretty scary word, but when you find someone you're absolutely sure of, that changes immensely. Don't be afraid to allow yourself to love someone you're great with and who will love you back for who you are; it's the best feeling in the world. <3

Actually, I noticed your beaming smile as well, I don't think I have ever seen you sad. I used to be the same kind of person in junior high, but I guess it changed with time. I still do laugh and smile a lot, but not as much as I used to. :) The outfit you're wearing is really lovely, by the way!

This is such a happy post. Firstly the vibrant colours of your outfit and of course the orange envelop clutch (which sealed your status as a fashion blogger... this is really funny and cute). On top of that I love the content that goes with this outfit post.

I can see how your smile and lovely personality have made many people's day. In a way, I'm like you. I love to make people's day too. And from all the incidents about the guy thanking you for showing him the difference a smile could make and also the missing a spot incident... they are all lovely anecdotes.

PS:
I'm hosting my first blog giveaway. There would be 3 sets of prizes to be given out. Do try your hands at winning something if you are keen. =)

First, you are TOTALLY a fashion blogger now :) And what a great clutch that is. And I love how people say your smile brightens up their day- is there a better compliment than that?! Last, love is a scary thing- but it's also the most amazing thing. I'm so excited to see where your life takes you :)
