Hodge Podge

Hey guys, welcome to another round of Hodge Podge! This time it's the August edition (with some late July photos included). Here's some random photos of what I've been up to outside of the fashion blogging aspect of things.

I went to a Christmas In July outdoor concert with my parents. The majority of the crowd was older folks, but I didn't really mind. Although it felt unnatural to hear "Let It Snow" when I was melting in my seat. Haha, the ironic part was when it started raining during the song!

Kirsten and I formed a friendship heart with our shadows. ♥

These are the few shots I took of a 50's Diner that Patrick took me to after his hockey game! I absolutely loved it, and the milkshake was to die for. There was even a little jukebox in the corner, but I forgot to snap a picture of it. Just means I'll have to go back there next time we pass by. Besides, I still have to sample their other milkshake flavors...

So you remember that post where I said my dad's friend was passing through and stopped in to visit us? Well, I mentioned he was passing through on a motorcycle. Maybe you don't know this, but one of the things on my bucket list is to take a roadtrip on a motorcycle. One day maybe...for the moment, I had to be satisfied with a quick sample and was the passenger. Still, plenty fun!

Just a couple food shots. Here's the baby cantaloupe we found in mom's garden.
And below you'll see the other end of the food spectrum with a fabulous chocolate-chip, chocolate covered caramel apple. Mmm, I'm drooling just thinking about it again...

That would be my adorable mom, playing the model. Its difficult to get her to pose for me, but sometimes I'll manage to catch her in a goofy mood and she'll play along.

Kirsten and I spend a lot of time together...haha, we were having fun at the nearby park this day. I still remember because the sprinklers came on and she went sprinting through them. Sadly, I had to refrain from joining her since I had a movie date with Patrick right after.
But next time, for sure!

These are from the day I wore that Madam Rage dress for the first time and mom and I went to our favorite ice cream shop. I don't know what they put in it, but everything is so thick, creamy, and absolute goodness! My favorite is always their summer special, Lemon.

Then just a couple nature shots to show you guys.
Below would be a picture Kirsten snapped of me while we were walking to the lake. We like to park about a mile away so we don't have to pay the $3 fine to enter and instead hike down. Haha, we're such cheapskates!

I can't believe August is already  halfway over - and with it, the carefree summer.
It's sad, but overall, I'm happy and content with how these past few months have gone. I wasn't bored, and time certainly wasn't wasted. In review, I got my first job (and it's a good one!), made some fun memories with my close friends, and...I got a boyfriend. :)
Yep, Patrick and I are official ladies. In case you couldn't tell already! Hahaha!

Hope you've had a wonderful summer as well!
Here's to the upcoming fall and some more memories to make.

I spy a toad in your nature shots!! He's so cute. I want to hold him and feel his weird froggy lumps. HAHA that sounds so weird. Frog lumps. What is wrong with me? I bet someone will search my name on the internet now after a job interview and end up not hiring me because I spoke of touching frog lumps.

haha okay, back to business. That diner looks so adorable! I bet it was lots of fun, and oh yes, the other milkshake flavors must be sampled as well. Ice cream is a delicious thing, isn't it?

Also, your mom is adorable!! You're lucky you can even manage to get a picture of yours. Mine hides. :)
