Lilac and Mint

Dress: c/o Crash & Burn   Blouse: vintage   Bag: Rue 21   Sunglasses: Vintage   Necklace: Vanity   Sandals: c/o My Hot Shoes

So this is the outfit I wore to go see Spiderman with Patrick. It was perfect for hanging out with Kirsten beforehand too. The heat here is smothering! We're being roasted right now, and this Crash & Burn dress was the perfect option to throw on and just walk around in. Plus, once night time rolled in, I had a minty green blouse to wear and stay warm in the chilly theater.

That was on Saturday. Now, Monday was one of the best days so far! This summer is certainly shaping up to be one of the most satisfying ones yet.

After work, I headed down to the nearby lake to join my friends in soaking up the sun and splashing around in the water. It was just what I needed! Saffron and Patrick were there, and I met a couple other college kids too. We played some volleyball first before we sat down to eat and just chill. Then we all spread out our towels and sat in different spots to work on our tans.

So remember that one post here where I mentioned this guy who commented on how healthy and shiny my hair was? Patrick has been running with that and is constantly making jokes about my hair now. Haha, it's actually really funny and cute. One of them was: "Do you sparkle in the sunlight? Or is it just your hair?" Haha, we had been talking about the vampire craze, which involved Twilight of course.

Anyway, at about 9 (yes, PM), we decided to head home. It didn't feel that late though, because it seriously doesn't even get dark here until 10! Since we felt all dried out and tired from the heat, Patrick suggested we go grab some snow cones. Saff couldn't make it since she had to get home, so it ended up just being me and him who went. Funny how that always works out, huh?

We took our snow cones over to the curb near our parked cars and sat in the shade. I'm not sure how we got on the topic, but it might've been me admitting I went through the Twilight phase and how I had a weak spot for Jacob. Haha, because he brought up an excellent point. Basically, he said that movies will always have some hot chicks for the guy's to appreciate, so he guessed Twilight was the girl's version of that. Which then brought us to talk about Megan Fox, because after Transformers there was this major craze about her looks. He said he was sure she might be pretty under all that makeup, but he didn't like the level of fakeness she portrays since he prefers natural beauty.
I'm telling you, it's impossible to try and stay friends with him when he talks like that...lol
Anyway, we just sat there talking about all this random stuff and sharing our viewpoints until my mom called. When my phone rang out, he was majorly impressed though. See, I set my parent's ringtone to be the theme song for Darth Vader...

Yeah, I'm a total nerd. Haha, but he got a kick out of it and high fived me for it twice. He's a major nerd too, so as he told me, it "scored me major points." I was laughing over his reaction to it. He looked shocked that a girl would be into Star Wars. I'm not kidding you, he was looking at me as if I was his dream girl or something just because of that! xD

I know I talk about him a lot here (which is scary since if he ever discovers my blog I may die of humiliation), but I just know if I don't somehow record these days down, I'll regret not remembering them in the future. Plus, it is what's been on my mind a lot lately! And this blog is a sort of daily diary for things that go on in my life anyway.  Because someday in the future, it'll be nice to look back and read what my silly self thought about and remember the things that happened.

Love the lilac and mint combo :) I totally understand what you mean about recording things...I had a relationship/thing (far too complicated to explain in comments!) with a guy, and I wrote down all the things that happened while it was happening in a diary, and I'm so glad I did because it is part of who I am and although over, something I would hate to forget. Hope that makes sense! :)

I seriously just "awww..." the entire time while I read this post. It would definitely be fun to look back at these posts in a few years, it would be like those time capsule things :)

Oooo I love the combination of mint and lilac, so pretty. The mint blouse looks so flowy, such a great vintage find!

I feel the same way! It takes a lot of courage to write down your feelings and memories on to a blog like this, especially with readers! So thanks for letting me in to your thoughts it's cool! But back to the post this is just too cute!! Can't wait to read more future posts involving patrick ;)

Haha, it's okay to record! I'm quite regretful I didn't do the same...anyways, score one for the nerdy girls! I remember when I started talking about obscure cult movies with Leon...he couldn't believe it either!

I love the outfit you wore sweetie, so pastel and bright, the dress is gorgeous :) looked like a fun date indeed!

You and this Patrick guy sure do seem like two peas in a pod. I'm pretty sure your friend Saff went home just to leave you alone... yeah, funny how that happens, huh? ;) haha! Anyway, it's good that you guys are hanging out so much and I hope the Spiderman movie was awesome!

The color of that top is just stunning. I love mint! Alas, I only have mint nail polish. One day I will hopefully have some pretty mint pieces like youu!

Girls who don't like StarWars freak me out a little. Or they're lying. Its just too good to dislike (I'm only kind of kidding).
