I'm Just a Little Bit Caught in the Middle

Top: c/o BaBassu   Shorts: Levi Strauss   Bag: gift   Heels: c/o My Hot Shoes

I almost forgot to take pictures of an outfit I'd wear for fourth of July. I'll probably end up wearing this, minus the heels. Haha, since it'll be night time when I go see the fireworks, it'd be safer to stick with flats. It'd put a damper on the night if I tripped and sprained an ankle!

Anyway, I have quite a few things to share since my last post...
Yesterday was so much fun! I got to go shooting for the first time ever (I'll share a couple pictures of that at the end), and it was a huge thrill. I felt so powerful wielding the guns. Plus, I actually hit the target as well as the guys, and for being a first-timer, I'm quite proud. Now I want to go out shooting again if I can!

Afterwards, Patrick and I grabbed a Jamba Juice to cool down and just talk for a bit before I had to jet off to work. I've been adjusting to my new job, and I got to work the register for the first time yesterday. Haha, that was a new thing to learn that was more fun than serving drinks.
I worked the later shift and helped close up. As I was filling a bucket with soapy water so I could mop the floors, one of the guy's I've kind of talked with came back where I was and started talking to me. His name is Pete, and he seemed like a cool guy...then he asked how old I was (he seemed shocked in a disappointed way to find out I was only 18) and if I had a boyfriend. I should've lied and told him I did...because yeah, then he told me how he thought his girlfriend was retarded and how he was going to tell her "what was up tonight." Ugh. That just made me feel so uncomfortable. All I could think was: "WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS???"

Once I finished up cleaning, I was able to leave early, which was perfect since Patrick had invited me to go see a movie that started in about 10 minutes from the time I got off work. So I quickly changed before heading over to the theater. I misunderstood him, because it turns out it was just me and him who were seeing this movie...aha, I thought it would be a group thing! We ended up seeing Brave (which is such a cute movie)!

Anyway, we then went out to our parked cars. I was expecting for us to just hug and say bye like we have from the past few times we've hung out. But Patrick seemed to hesitate and leaned back as I fiddled with my keys. Then he suddenly asked if I was hungry and wanted to go to Sharis. He must've heard my stomach rumbling in the theater...I hadn't eaten anything since our Jamba Juice before work! So I agreed and we took his car to go to the restaurant.

That was pleasant (plus he bought my food haha). We talked for about an hour before mom called and asked where I was. I'd lost track of time and it was already 12:30 at this point...oops! So we went back to the theater where my car was.
Everything had been so nice and casual up until then. He pulled up besides my car and parked. Then he looked at me and said, "So, I have a question for you."

I must've had a freaked out look on my face. Not going to lie, I had the urge to bolt from the car. Probably not a good sign either...
So he reassured me it was nothing scary. Then he addressed a topic I've been wondering myself for a while.
He wasn't sure if it was just from his perspective, but he felt there was something going on between us. And he wanted to make sure we were both on the same page so neither of us would get hurt.

The fact that he was both mature and brave enough to bring that up really impressed me. So I honestly told him I thought he was an amazing guy, and right now I was just interested in hanging out and seeing where it went. Because, as I told him, I'm not sure what I want.

Now that we've both come clean and are being more honest about what's going on, I feel a huge sense of relief. I've let him know where I stand, and now I'm not as worried I'm leading him on or anything. Because all of the times we've hung out, it's been casual; although as he noticed, with an underlying sense of something more. Neither of us are certain what to do about that though, so we've agreed that we'll just treat each other as friends...and if something happens, then it's meant to be.

In conclusion to this ginormous post (for those of you patient enough to read it all - again), check out this song and enjoy the photos of me handling some guns! ;)

Yup, I was the only girl. I'm pretty much getting a kick out of how I'm handling a big gun while wearing a floral tank and girly pink Converse! And yes...for those of you wondering, the guy in the green shirt is Patrick.

So yeah, I felt pretty fierce. Handling the guns made me feel powerful and capable. I may just look into investing in one of my own in the future!

One: Ooo I love your fourth of July outfit! Especially your pretty blue shoes and lace top :)
Two: Patrick sounds like a really nice guy and Brave seems like a really good movie (yay i'm watching it tomorrow). That's great that you two are both on the same page now.
Three: Pete. ?!. Like seriously why would he even say that, it's so personal...
Four: Haha that's so cool that you are wearing a pretty floral tank and pink shoes while handling the guns!

So we can finally see Patrick! I was getting so curious about him! He looks charming and sweet, and it's good you guys have talked about it! About Pete? Can you say weird..

These pics are awesome! I own a 9mm Springfield XDM compact, it's the perfect girly gun. I highly recommend it if you're looking into investing. My husband has the regular sized XDM but it was a little big for my hands. PS- love that you're wearing florals while shooting. I'm usually in black, might try adding a girly touch next time!

Awwww.. This was such a lovely, fun post to read. Patrick sounds great, and you two would look like a beautiful couple based on that gun shot ;D hehe. But as you said, if anything happens then it's meant to be. I'm not sure if you've read about me & my boyfriend.. well we were friends ~ 6 years ago, and lost contact after a while. I was completely head over heels for him but never told it to him, just to my girlfriends etc. He is few years younger than me, so when we met he was only 15 and I already 19, so it felt like a huge age difference too.. Underaged guy :D Anyway, years flew by and last summer we happened to meet each other at local pub, started talking like old friends blablabla - and now we've been living together for 7 months! :D

Thank you thank you girl for all your lovely, encouraging comments. Hugs! I haven't been able to reply because of computer problems, but here I am again - it's been such a long time since leaving you a comment :o

Have a sunny day,

oh oh oh.. what!! how did i miss this?? noo!! anyway firstly that first guy you work with is such a creep.. what the hell?? as if you're even going to be interested in someone who starts off by bitching about their girlfriend.. real mature! secondly.. aaahhhhh!! hahaha thats so cute, i knew there had to be something up between the two of you, i bet it feels so much better now you both know where you stand and also you probably feel less trapped or whatever knowing that he knows your not leading him on.. thirdly.. wow! how hot is patrick?? and i love how he dresses too.. you've got yourself a keeper there (especially compared to that other weirdo from work!) how can you contain yourself haha! and lastly, you know i always love your outfits but lady you look so damn hot holding that gun!!;-)
